Este segundo volumen de «Mitología y mitos de la Hispania prerromana» recoge una serie de textos que constituyen dos partes de la obra claramente diferenciadas. En la primera se plantea una doble cuestión: por una parte el análisis de determinados rituales y mitos indígenas hispánicos, y por otra el estudio de la interrelación existente entre esos mitos y los modos de pensar y mitos propios de los autores clásicos que, como Estrabón, Diodoro Sículo o Avieno, han recogido en sus obras las descripciones de los habitantes de Hispania prerromana, de sus creencias y sus costumbres. En cuanto a la segunda parte de la obra, se organiza en torno al análisis de la estructura del panteón de los dioses del noroeste de Iberia, de origen prerromano, que sobreviven en el propio mundo romano a través de la epigrafía latina.
