Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Wohnen und Stadtsoziologie, Note: 1,0, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Institut für Soziologie), Veranstaltung: Mobilität und Familie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Schon in den zwanziger Jahren des vergangenen Jahrhunderts war das gesellschaftliche Interesse an der Familie als Keimzelle der Gesellschaft groß. Seit damals hat sich vieles verändert, die Familie ist jedoch weiterhin im Fokus der Gesellschaft geblieben. Angetrieben wurde dies auch von der politischen Betrachtungsweise, „Familien gewährleisten gleichermaßen soziales Wachstum und ökonomischen Wohlstand unserer Gesellschaft“. In der Folge wurde die Forschung an diesem an sich privaten Lebensbereich öffentlich gefordert und gefördert. Nach hundert Jahren Forschung und der Gründung eines Bundesministerium für Familienfragen 1953 sind allerdings viele wichtige Zusammenhänge und Prozesse noch unerforscht. Zu diesen gehört das Mobilitätsverhalten und die Abläufe, die zu einer Entscheidung für – oder gegen – einen Wohnortswechsel führen. Ein Recht auf Freizügigkeit gab es in Deutschland schon 1871 mit Einführung der Verfassung des Deutschen Reichs und es wurde auch in die Verfassung der Weimarer Republik von 1919 festgehalten. Mit fortschreitender Entwicklung moderner Fortbewegungsmittel und der Ausdehnung der vorhandenen Infrastruktur ist es seit einigen Jahrzehnten sehr einfach, zu einem beliebig anderen Ort zu ziehen. Zur Lockerung der rechtlichen Einschränkungen trug die Regelung von 1997 bei, dass innerhalb der Europäischen Gemeinschaft die Freizügigkeit der Arbeitnehmer gewährleistet, die sich in den Mitgliedsstaaten frei bewegen und aufhalten durften. Um die beobachteten Dynamiken zu erklären, wurden verschiedene Theorien entwickelt bzw. welche aus anderen Bereichen, wie zum Beispiel der Ökonomie, übernommen und sie den vorgefundenen Sachverhalten angepasst. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit einigen der bekanntesten und verbreitetsten Theorien, die zur Erklärung des Mobilitätsverhaltens von Familien zu Rate gezogen werden. Außerdem werden kurz die zwei großen Bereichen von Mobilität vorgestellt: residentielle Mobilität und Migration. Zum Schluss werden die Schwachpunkte der Theorien angesprochen und ein kurzes Fazit gezogen.

This research concentrated on a national perspective, studying many aspects of income inequality and poverty in West Germany between 1969 and 1998 and extending the analyses to inequality in East Germany after the German reunification.
