Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten weltweit in zahlreichen Unternehmen als wichtiges Werkzeug für die nachhaltige Produktentwicklung etabliert. Dennoch bleibt der Einsatz von LCA häufig auf wenige, vereinzelte Entscheidung mit hoher Bedeutung beschränkt. Insbesondere durch den hohen Aufwand für die Durchführung von LCA-Studien fehlt die nötige Skalierbarkeit, um LCA eng mit den Entscheidungsprozessen der Produktentwicklung zu verzahnen.
