With the development of advanced media technologies, cyberspace is gradually transforming from temporal immersion into a state of new normal. An increasing proportion of our daily lives has become a mix of physical and virtual worlds. As a complex social psychological phenomenon, online social identity has attracted widespread attention from academia to industry. Identity-related issues have been noted as an important subject of Internet interdisciplinary research, including social psychology, sociology, personality psychology, and health psychology. Communication in cyberspace always carries some degrees of anonymity, for users present virtual identities constructed by themselves in cyberspace, hiding their real identities and constructing their online identities as a form of social identity enactment. On the other hand, online media provides tools and environments for virtual identity building. Although the anonymity of the internet facilitates the subjects' construction of their virtual identity, their online virtual identity is not completely anonymous and can be identified and authenticated online, thereby meaning we can research how online identity relates to real world identity. Identification is a social process that matches internal self-identity with external identity types, and it is also a process and a reflection of internal perceptions, and mere identification with a group has been shown to dramatically affect behavior (as per social identity theory).

In an ageing world, a better and deeper understanding of the senior segment is crucial. This thesis focuses in the study of the senior tourism, a topic that has been receiving increasing attention in literature due to its growth potential and the specificities that seniors can present in their way of consuming tourism and leisure travelling. The first few years of the 21st millennium have brought extraordinary change and transformation in destination planning and management. It is obvious that the increasing importance of the tourism industry needs an improvement in knowledge for this important segment so as to be able to tailor offerings to senior cohort groups. The overall aim of this study is to understand how seniors want to travel, and to determine the trends, forces in play and key preferences that may affect the way that seniors will consume tourism in the future. The tourism industry must be attentive to the senior market because of the rapid increase in this market’s size in an ageing society and the changes in the way they are consuming products and services. Sophistication should be further explored, and opportunities provided to better anticipate, maximize and genuinely understand the needs, wants, concerns, preferences and insights of this heterogeneous segment of the population.

Sustainable Transport Studies In Asia written by Akimasa Fujiwara and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-04 with Science categories.

This book aims to provide a good understanding of and perspective on sustainable transport in Asia by focusing on economic, environmental, and social sustainability. It is widely acknowledged that the current situation and trends in transport are not always sustainable in Asia, due in part to the fast-growing economy and the astounding speed of urbanization as well as least-mature governance. As essential research material, the book provides strong support for policy makers and planners by comprehensively covering three groups of strategies, characterized by the words “avoid” (e.g., urban form design and control of car ownership), “shift” (e.g., establishing comprehensive transportation systems and increasing public transportation systems for both intracity and intercity travel), and “improve” (e.g., redesign of paratransit system, low-emission vehicles, intelligent transportation systems, and eco-life). These are elaborated in the book alongside consideration of the uncertainty of policy effects in the future. The book is also valuable for scholars and scientists because of the diverse methodologies presented and proposed herein. Among those are the four-step model with full feedback mechanisms, the bi-level programming model with sustainability goals, data envelopment analysis and stochastic frontier analysis approaches, structural equation models, discrete and/or continuous choice models, copula-based models, survival models, and driving risk models with short-term memory. Using data collected from more than ten Asian cities, including those in both developed and developing nations, the pathway to sustainable transport in Asia gradually becomes clear.
