This book concentrates on virtual IMS with the use of modern information and measurement modeling technologies. Modern IMS can be implemented as: real hardware and software measuring tools; virtual IMS with the use of modern information and measurement modeling technologies, including simulation, mathematical, physical, with extensive use of computer equipment for conducting a simulation measurement experiment. Compared to real ones, virtual IMS has a number of advantages, and their implementation requires less time, production, and financial costs. However, in a number of cases, due to the information uncertainty of the object of measurement, such IMS cannot provide objective and reliable results, and therefore, it is necessary to conduct a full-scale measurement experiment using real systems. The potential capabilities of modern systems at the stage of information development of society have increased significantly, which contributes both to the expansion of the subject areas of their application and their use to increase the efficiency of known and solve new scientific and applied measurement tasks. The authors are in solidarity with other colleagues—specialists in measurements—in the forecasts of the development of IMS. No improvements in measurement information technologies, including computer and intellectual ones, have not led, are not leading, and obviously cannot lead in future to the expansion of the nomenclature of measurements of quantities while there are no corresponding sensors that form primary information during their direct interaction with the research object. Further development of IMS and their use in various fields of science and technology, including quantum metrology and nanotechnology, will largely be determined by the development of new principles of operation and the creation of new types of sensors based on them.

Statistical Diagnostics Of Electric Power Equipment written by Vitalii Babak and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-11-25 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book considers the issues of constructing mathematical probabilistic models of diagnostic signals, the development of statistical methods of their analysis in order to make diagnostic decisions and, finally, the technical implementation of the proposed diagnostic methods. Following the concept of primacy of the mathematical model of the diagnostic signal, the authors considered it expedient to consider first of all the questions connected with the theory of random processes possessing infinitely divisible distribution laws, linear and linear periodic random processes. Considerable attention is paid to the issues of simulation modeling of diagnostic signals and their statistical evaluation. Modern element base and new information technologies allowed to develop, build and practically test a number of experimental samples of information-measuring systems of statistical diagnostics of electric power engineering objects. Among these IMS, the systems are realized by means of unmanned diagnostic complexes, and also IMS of vibrodiagnostics of moving units of electric machines represents an important role. A large amount of experimental research has shown the operability and efficiency of the built IMS samples. Particular attention is paid to the selection of diagnostic spaces, formation of training sets, construction of solving rules for diagnosis and classification of EE defects. The authors do not pretend to a comprehensive consideration of the issues of EE diagnostics using statistical methods and IMS realized on their basis. At the same time, the results of researches, stated in this monograph, were a natural continuation of the subject of application of statistical methods in the field of control, monitoring and diagnostics for objects of electric power industry.

Design and Implementation of service-oriented architectures imposes a huge number of research questions from the fields of software engineering, system analysis and modeling, adaptability, and application integration. Component orientation and web services are two approaches for design and realization of complex web-based system. Both approaches allow for dynamic application adaptation as well as integration of enterprise application. Commonly used technologies, such as J2EE and .NET, form de facto standards for the realization of complex distributed systems. Evolution of component systems has lead to web services and service-based architectures. This has been manifested in a multitude of industry standards and initiatives such as XML, WSDL UDDI, SOAP, etc. All these achievements lead to a new and promising paradigm in IT systems engineering which proposes to design complex software solutions as collaboration of contractually defined software services. Service-Oriented Systems Engineering represents a symbiosis of best practices in object-orientation, component-based development, distributed computing, and business process management. It provides integration of business and IT concerns. The annual Ph.D. Retreat of the Research School provides each member the opportunity to present his/her current state of their research and to give an outline of a prospective Ph.D. thesis. Due to the interdisciplinary structure of the research school, this technical report covers a wide range of topics. These include but are not limited to: Human Computer Interaction and Computer Vision as Service; Service-oriented Geovisualization Systems; Algorithm Engineering for Service-oriented Systems; Modeling and Verification of Self-adaptive Service-oriented Systems; Tools and Methods for Software Engineering in Service-oriented Systems; Security Engineering of Service-based IT Systems; Service-oriented Information Systems; Evolutionary Transition of Enterprise Applications to Service Orientation; Operating System Abstractions for Service-oriented Computing; and Services Specification, Composition, and Enactment.

The Data Quality Assessment Framework shows you how to measure and monitor data quality, ensuring quality over time. You'll start with general concepts of measurement and work your way through a detailed framework of more than three dozen measurement types related to five objective dimensions of quality: completeness, timeliness, consistency, validity, and integrity. Ongoing measurement, rather than one time activities will help your organization reach a new level of data quality. This plain-language approach to measuring data can be understood by both business and IT and provides practical guidance on how to apply the DQAF within any organization enabling you to prioritize measurements and effectively report on results. Strategies for using data measurement to govern and improve the quality of data and guidelines for applying the framework within a data asset are included. You'll come away able to prioritize which measurement types to implement, knowing where to place them in a data flow and how frequently to measure. Common conceptual models for defining and storing of data quality results for purposes of trend analysis are also included as well as generic business requirements for ongoing measuring and monitoring including calculations and comparisons that make the measurements meaningful and help understand trends and detect anomalies. - Demonstrates how to leverage a technology independent data quality measurement framework for your specific business priorities and data quality challenges - Enables discussions between business and IT with a non-technical vocabulary for data quality measurement - Describes how to measure data quality on an ongoing basis with generic measurement types that can be applied to any situation

Welcometothe6thInternationalWorkshoponPassiveandActiveMeasurement, held in Boston, Massuchusetts. PAM 2005 was organized by Boston University, with ?nancial support from Endace Measurement Systems and Intel. PAM continues to grow and mature as a venue for research in all aspects of Internet measurement. This trend is being driven by increasing interest and activity in the ?eld of Internet measurement. To accommodate the increasing interest in PAM, this year the workshop added a Steering Committee, whose members will rotate, to provide continuity and oversight of the PAM workshop series. PAMplaysaspecialroleinthemeasurementcommunity. Itemphasizespr- matic, relevant research in the area of network and Internet measurement. Its focus re?ects the increasing understanding that measurement is critical to e?- tive engineering of the Internet’s components. This is clearly a valuable role, as evidenced by the yearly increases in the number of submissions, interest in, and attendance at PAM. PAM received 84 submissions this year. Each paper was reviewed by three or four Program Committee (PC) members during the ?rst round. Papers that received con?icting scores were further reviewed by additional PC members or external reviewers (typically two). After all reviews were received, each paper with con?icting scores was discussed extensively by its reviewers, until a c- sensus was reached. The PC placed particular emphasis on selecting papers that were fresh and exciting research contributions. Also, strong preference was given to papers that included validation results based on real measurements.
