Lifting Modules written by John Clark and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-08-17 with Mathematics categories.

Extending modules are generalizations of injective modules and, dually, lifting modules generalize projective supplemented modules. This duality exhibits a certain asymmetry. While the theory of extending modules is well documented in monographs and text books, the purpose of this monograph is to provide a thorough study of supplements and projectivity conditions needed to investigate classes of modules related to lifting modules.

In recent years the interplay between model theory and other branches of mathematics has led to many deep and intriguing results. In this, the first book on the topic, the theme is the interplay between model theory and the theory of modules. The book is intended to be a self-contained introduction to the subject and introduces the requisite model theory and module theory as it is needed. Dr Prest develops the basic ideas concerning what can be said about modules using the information which may be expressed in a first-order language. Later chapters discuss stability-theoretic aspects of modules, and structure and classification theorems over various types of rings and for certain classes of modules. Both algebraists and logicians will enjoy this account of an area in which algebra and model theory interact in a significant way. The book includes numerous examples and exercises and consequently will make an ideal introduction for graduate students coming to this subject for the first time.

Modules And Rings written by John Dauns and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994-10-28 with Mathematics categories.

This book on modern module and non-commutative ring theory is ideal for beginning graduate students. It starts at the foundations of the subject and progresses rapidly through the basic concepts to help the reader reach current research frontiers. Students will have the chance to develop proofs, solve problems, and to find interesting questions. The first half of the book is concerned with free, projective, and injective modules, tensor algebras, simple modules and primitive rings, the Jacobson radical, and subdirect products. Later in the book, more advanced topics, such as hereditary rings, categories and functors, flat modules, and purity are introduced. These later chapters will also prove a useful reference for researchers in non-commutative ring theory. Enough background material (including detailed proofs) is supplied to give the student a firm grounding in the subject.

Module Theory Extending Modules And Generalizations written by Adnan Tercan and has been published by Birkhäuser this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-13 with Mathematics categories.

The main focus of this monograph is to offer a comprehensive presentation of known and new results on various generalizations of CS-modules and CS-rings. Extending (or CS) modules are generalizations of injective (and also semisimple or uniform) modules. While the theory of CS-modules is well documented in monographs and textbooks, results on generalized forms of the CS property as well as dual notions are far less present in the literature. With their work the authors provide a solid background to module theory, accessible to anyone familiar with basic abstract algebra. The focus of the book is on direct sums of CS-modules and classes of modules related to CS-modules, such as relative (injective) ejective modules, (quasi) continuous modules, and lifting modules. In particular, matrix CS-rings are studied and clear proofs of fundamental decomposition results on CS-modules over commutative domains are given, thus complementing existing monographs in this area. Open problems round out the work and establish the basis for further developments in the field. The main text is complemented by a wealth of examples and exercises.

Photovoltaic Module Reliability written by John H. Wohlgemuth and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-01-08 with Science categories.

Provides practical guidance on the latest quality assurance and accelerated stress test methods for improved long-term performance prediction of PV modules This book has been written from a historical perspective to guide readers through how the PV industry learned what the failure and degradation modes of PV modules were, how accelerated tests were developed to cause the same failures and degradations in the laboratory, and then how these tests were used as tools to guide the design and fabrication of reliable and long-life modules. Photovoltaic Module Reliability starts with a brief history of photovoltaics, discussing some of the different types of materials and devices used for commercial solar cells. It then goes on to offer chapters on: Module Failure Modes; Development of Accelerated Stress Tests; Qualification Testing; and Failure Analysis Tools. Next, it examines the use of quality management systems to manufacture PV modules. Subsequent chapters cover the PVQAT Effort; the Conformity Assessment and IECRE; and Predicting PV Module Service Life. The book finishes with a look at what the future holds for PV. A comprehensive treatment of current photovoltaic (PV) technology reliability and necessary improvement to become a significant part of the electric utility supply system Well documented with experimental and practical cases throughout, enhancing relevance to both scientific community and industry Timely contribution to the harmonization of methodological aspects of PV reliability evaluation with test procedures implemented to certify PV module quality Written by a leading international authority in PV module reliability Photovoltaic Module Reliability is an excellent book for anyone interested in PV module reliability, including those working directly on PV module and system reliability and preparing to purchase modules for deployment.

Foundations Of Module And Ring Theory written by Robert Wisbauer and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-05-11 with Mathematics categories.

This volume provides a comprehensive introduction to module theory and the related part of ring theory, including original results as well as the most recent work. It is a useful and stimulating study for those new to the subject as well as for researchers and serves as a reference volume. Starting form a basic understanding of linear algebra, the theory is presented and accompanied by complete proofs. For a module M, the smallest Grothendieck category containing it is denoted by o[M] and module theory is developed in this category. Developing the techniques in o[M] is no more complicated than in full module categories and the higher generality yields significant advantages: for example, module theory may be developed for rings without units and also for non-associative rings. Numerous exercises are included in this volume to give further insight into the topics covered and to draw attention to related results in the literature.

Rings Monoids And Module Theory written by Ayman Badawi and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-11 with Mathematics categories.

This book contains select papers on rings, monoids and module theory which are presented at the 3rd International Conference on Mathematics and Statistics (AUS-ICMS 2020) held at the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from 6–9 February 2020. This conference was held in honour of the work of the distinguished algebraist Daniel D. Anderson. Many participants and colleagues from around the world felt it appropriate to acknowledge his broad and sweeping contributions to research in algebra by writing an edited volume in his honor. The topics covered are, inevitably, a cross-section of the vast expansion of modern algebra. The book is divided into two sections—surveys and recent research developments—with each section hopefully offering symbiotic utility to the reader. The book contains a balanced mix of survey papers, which will enable expert and non-expert alike to get a good overview of developments across a range of areas of algebra. The book is expected to be of interest to both beginning graduate students and experienced researchers.

Extensions Of Rings And Modules written by Gary F. Birkenmeier and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-07-19 with Mathematics categories.

The "extensions" of rings and modules have yet to be explored in detail in a research monograph. This book presents state of the art research and also stimulating new and further research. Broken into three parts, Part I begins with basic notions, terminology, definitions and a description of the classes of rings and modules. Part II considers the transference of conditions between a base ring or module and its extensions. And Part III utilizes the concept of a minimal essental extension with respect to a specific class (a hull). Mathematical interdisciplinary applications appear throughout. Major applications of the ring and module theory to Functional Analysis, especially C*-algebras, appear in Part III, make this book of interest to Algebra and Functional Analysis researchers. Notes and exercises at the end of every chapter, and open problems at the end of all three parts, lend this as an ideal textbook for graduate or advanced undergradate students.
