Foreman est un véritable monstre, il vient de vaincre par K.O. les deux seuls adversaires à avoir battu Ali. Mais ce dernier compte bien récupérer son titre de champion du monde. De plus, le peuple zaïrois le soutient, ce qui démoralise profondément son adversaire. Il n'empêche que de son propre aveu, Ali est terrifié à l'idée de l'affronter sur le ring. Fin stratège, il sait qu'il ne pourra vaincre Foreman qu'en l'épuisant. Il encaissera donc des coups pendant huit rounds avant de mettre K.O. le tenant du titre, déjouant tous les pronostics ! Abbas, photojournaliste qui se trouve sur place, va immortaliser cette rencontre incroyable. Il gardera les clichés pour lui pendant 36 ans !
