Moments is a collection of poems I wrote. Each poem explains just how I feel and what has gone through my mind. These poems take you on a ride from love to depression and back to love. Each poem resembles a single moment of my life. It gives you a glance at how far my mind goes when talking about my feelings and emotions. At times I have a hard time putting my feelings to words, but with persistence and motivation, I am able to form my thoughts into words. I have found it difficult to talk about certain topics that center around my life because I was either embarrassed or scared of people finding out, but I am ready to release my heart. I am ready to release my mind. These are my Moments.

Have you ever said goodbye to someone, only to discover that you're both walking in the same direction? Or had your next thought fly out of your brain in the middle of a presentation? Or accidentally liked an old photo on someone's Instagram or Facebook, thus revealing yourself to be a creepy social media stalker? Melissa Dahl, New York magazine's "Science of Us" editor, has experienced all of those awkward situations, and many more. Now she offers a thoughtful, original take on what it really means to feel awkward. She invites you to follow her into all sorts of mortifying moments, drawing on personal experience and in-depth psychological research to answer questions you've probably pondered at some point, such as: * Why are situations without clear rules most likely to turn awkward? * Are people really judging us as harshly as we think they are? * Does anyone ever truly outgrow their awkward teenage self? If you can learn to tolerate life's most awkward situations -- networking, difficult conversations, hearing the sound of your own terrible voice -- your awkwardness can be a secret weapon to making better, more memorable impressions. When everyone else is pretending to have it under control, you can be a little braver and grow a little bigger.

This book has no rhyme or reason. It is written by a man who finds solace and peace of mind through writing. There are thoughts about nature and the beauty of it and how it affects his soul. There are thoughts about love, happiness, and friendship. Its not a story but individual thoughts through time. This is one of those timeless thoughts. Magical moments inside my mind. Im walking with faith with enormous power. I have knowledge that translates into truth. Express your thoughts of love. My divine spirit lives inside my soul, truth wrapped around my heart, my spirit dancing with love. Lift your hands of joy in relief, expanding your mind into the night as gentle feelings of love touch my heart. My presence comes with acceptance of love.

#1 New York Times bestseller “Essential reading for anyone interested in understanding and treating traumatic stress and the scope of its impact on society.” —Alexander McFarlane, Director of the Centre for Traumatic Stress Studies A pioneering researcher transforms our understanding of trauma and offers a bold new paradigm for healing in this New York Times bestseller Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent over three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust. He explores innovative treatments—from neurofeedback and meditation to sports, drama, and yoga—that offer new paths to recovery by activating the brain’s natural neuroplasticity. Based on Dr. van der Kolk’s own research and that of other leading specialists, The Body Keeps the Score exposes the tremendous power of our relationships both to hurt and to heal—and offers new hope for reclaiming lives.
