The book you are about to read is a revised version of Monster in Mama is Not Bigger than God based on my painful experience with my mother, sibling, relatives, some members of churches and communities I lived in. Even though I suffered in some churches and under some preachers who call themselves servants of God I continue to serve God and have fellowship with brethren in a church. This book is one of those difficult ones for me to write. I delayed for a while when God instructed me to write about my own personal abuse. To tell the truth I did not think, great book to write Father, I will start right away. God showed me my rejection by my mother since she knew she was pregnant with me. She never accepted me until now when I'm writing this book. I don't write the book to make her appear like some monster but I firmly believe she has some monster inside of her to carry such hatred towards me. God gave me the title "Monster in Mama is not Bigger than God" so that I understand that my "battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and rulers of darkness." I battled to understand why such deep hatred from the woman who gave birth to me. I mean she looked me in the face and said "Doreen, you will never force me to love you!" My mother would say "when I gave birth to you if I knew you will rebel against me I should have sat on you and suffocate you to death. I told the Congolese in-laws of yours to kill you take the body and give me your head. You are good for nothing, a witch, a Satanist, evil, cruel, stupid, a problem to me. It is good that you lost everything including your job. It serves you right that Mampani (husband) is poverty stricken. He cannot even afford to buy himself underwear. I brought you down from being a success to live like an illiterate person. You thought you knew everything and you are clever." When I asked my mother who my real father is she would swear me with words that even those who write dictionaries would not take time to write. She did this while drunk and sober therefore she knew what she was doing. I went on fasting for over 30 days fasted and prayed asking God to reveal who my real father was. The man who rejected me for 44 years was my real father. I was told he was charmed by his late mother not to take care of his own children. He asked for me during his last days but I refused to speak to him or visit him. He caused me deep pain for four decades. I forgave him, went to his funeral and even helped with cooking and cleaning for the whole night preparing food for the mourners. Well hard as it is, I'm still praying for my mother's Salvation. I realized that when all those evil spirits that are making her the monster are out, she will realize the mistake she did. I didn't just embark on the battle but with God, LORD Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, brethren, Christian counseling and strangers that God sent to encourage me. For example one day I met one woman for the first time, she said "mama, even if someone make you angry. It does not matter how much he or she swears you and belittle you. Don't ever raise your hand to smack or push that person. There are too many sick people these days. Unfortunately some look healthy but are dying. Just walk away or else you will smack or push such a person and he or she falls down and die. When you go to court the judge will say that you have killed someone. So don't lose faith." I did not discuss my challenge with that woman neither did she read any of my books. I found out when we were talking that God was using her.

This book Mama Lost The Charm is about mothers who enslave their sons and daughters through witchcraft. These mothers identify their most intelligent child, it could be the first born, second born or middle child but not their last born. It is also about my late father who was the second child, the most intelligent child, the first son of his mother and she enslaved him all his life. Before she died she regretted her deeds and said I lost the charm. This book have stories of people I have met who have been enslaved by their mothers. Some of them are well educated and enslaved by illiterate mothers. I'm glad that I shared with those I met about the deliverance that our LORD Jesus Christ gives to captives such as these. I myself was bound by my mother to work for her, her favorite son and daughter and their families. I wrote some of my experience in my book Who Owns Your Soul? Revised Edition and Monster In Mama Is Not Bigger Than God. This was similar to what my late grand-mother did to my late father but in my case God revealed what my mother did because she confessed it herself. Witchcraft practices amongst some Africans is more rife today that before. Mothers from South Africa going to African countries to source strong witch-doctors to enslave their children. Some women even enslave their husbands. People practicing wickedness as though God does not see what they are doing. People who feel like goddesses under the sun. There is more information about destroying the power of darkness like never before. God's power is moving to set captives free from satanic bondage. God is no respecter of persons, even if it's a mother who carried her child for 9 months and suffered labor pains while giving birth. Or a single mother who grew up her children alone, still she does not have a right to control and domineer her children through witchcraft.

This book Souls In A Clay Pot is a collection of poems I wrote about people whose souls are imprisoned. It was during the time when my mother, half brother and sister did not want me to work or do business to have money so that I must be their slave begging help from them for accommodation, food and clothing. One of the many great things of our God is that "He is no respecter of persons". There are mothers and fathers who are tormenting their children some even kill their children. Dealing with witchcraft unfortunately using the world's systems is rather a complicated matter. One is required to prove the allegations which are interrupted with by more witchcraft. But as Christians we know that there is a throne in heaven were matters are resolved, fairly, no bribery, no manipulation of the justice system, no interference of Satan there. These people don't progress and don't know the reason behind it. The best way to find out if a person's soul is imprisoned is to seek God. Asking the Holy Spirit to reveal if one's soul is in prison or not. This is not an excuse for those who are lazy to say I just can't help it, my soul is in prison. Bearing in mind that "the thief cometh not but to steal, kill and destroy". Satan plays no games with any human being. His aim always is to steal life, health, possession, joy, to kill the person and bring destruction. We have to go to our LORD Jesus Christ who came to give us life and life more abundantly. To imprison a person's soul spiritually is witchcraft practice to control a person or people against their will. I met married men who love their mothers more than their wives and children. I also met married women who love their mothers more than their husbands and children. They justify it by saying that their mothers suffered for them. Their witch mothers demand "pay-back" for their hard work. There is no mother who does not suffer in child labor. Some mothers suffer temporary barrenness before they can conceive and are mocked, and even accused of being witches. There are mothers who suffer different sickness and disease when they are pregnant - this does not justify domineering the child with witchcraft. I met an unemployed graduate Venda lady who could not find work in Limpopo Province. Her mother refused her to move to other provinces saying she fears for the safety of her daughter that she would die. The poor young lady felt helpless. Her class mates were working in other provinces and there she stayed with her wicked mother. I met mothers who would not allow their children to relocate or immigrate to other countries for fear that their children would die and they will not burry them. I mean, who cares about death when there is life to look forward to. Some African foreign nationals from Congo, Nigeria, Zambia, Angola, Mozambique, Cameroon and Zimbabwe told me "your South African mothers treat you like babies. They hold onto you and don't want you to grow up and be independent. They don't see the challenges of unemployment and poverty that our mothers in Africa sees and let us go to other countries to make a living. Who said if you are at home with your mother you can't die?" One 54 year widowed Zimbabwean woman told me she walked for 14 days from the Beit Bridge boarder to the city. She jumped the boarder and entered South Africa illegally to find domestic work to raise money to go to Europe. She also disclosed to me that she was HIV+ and that her husband died of HIV/AIDS

The title Nobody Thinks About Me But I Must Think About Them was revealed to my daughter L'amour by God. L'amour said to me "mama have you seen that there are selfish people. They always say think about me but they don't want to think about us. They don't think about my papa, my mama and me. When they have problems they ask my mama to pray for them. Write this book mama, it is God Who told me." This God revealed to my daughter not because we are super spiritual but "nothing but dust and ashes." First I ignored my daughter for over a month while she repeated this title Nobody Thinks About Me But I Must Think About Them. L'amour repeated this every day until I said I would pray about it. Little did I realize that abusive people are selfish, self-centered people who wants their victims to think about them. I heard of a man who has spent most of his life in prison for murder. He said "if I see a person have money I ask him to share with me. That is when I'm craving for my things (drugs). If he refuses to share I then have no choice but kill him." This man thinks about himself and not the victim who worked hard for his money. In this collection are are poems: My Defiled Soul, My Wounded Heart Just A Little Gambling Just For Money He Got Stabbed Without A Role Model Papa In The Grave, Mama On The Wheelchair, etc.

These are poems that I wrote about parents who hate their own children. Touching on matters of "spiritual umbilical cords between mother and daughter" using poems to explain this. Mothers who are domineering, controlling and manipulating. How some parents curse their children causing great pain. Above all how no human being under the sun can command God of heaven. It's not easy to break loose, but when you know the root of the problem you can be free. For years I never understood why my mother hated me yet she wanted to be around me. It never made sense until now. I know I'm not the only one who suffered this. There is no need to give up because God of heaven is in charge of this life and eternal life.

These are anthologies about domestic workers and their madams. I worked a few times as a domestic worker and experienced hands on hardship of what these determined women go through. Being shouted by madam, her husband and children. It surprised me that in South Africa have 22 years of democracy but still have madams who call their domestic workers "girls." I mean a 40 year woman being called a "Girl" by a 24 year woman. You find an old man called a "garden boy." Madam's kids calling the domestic worker by name not showing respect. I worked for one old woman who demanded respect, yet she "didn't do unto others what she would like them to do to her." Her 15 year old grand-son called me by my name. The day I got angry is when he said "hey Doreen, would you please iron for me this t-shirt." Some people become domestic workers due to poverty, illiteracy due to various reasons. There are domestic workers who have Grade 12 but did not get funds to pay for further studies. I was hurt in this industry and asked God to help me. God told me I was not the only one suffering as a domestic worker and must write a book about it. Madams, husbands, and their children out there to treat domestic workers and gardeners as people like them. Realizing that a domestic worker have a life, have emotions, can be hurt by words, works hard to feed her family. Some of these madams and their families suffer calamities that they cannot explain due to all the pain they caused their domestic workers and laborers over the years. Such bosses do not seem to understand why they suffer, having wealth and power but no peace and no health. I met one domestic worker who quit her job because her madam would not give her time off. The domestic worker's teenage girl was coughing blood. The domestic worker was from the village at least 50 km from the city. She asked her madam time off in order to take her ill child to the hospital. Madam refused to give the domestic worker time off. She did not respond to the request. That was on a Thursday, the next day, Friday, the madam, the husband and children went to the shopping mall after work. They left the domestic worker in the house, worrying about her ill child. The domestic worker quit the job. She said to me "I take good care of this woman's children. She is with her children every day. Couldn't she allow me to take my child to the hospital. What if my child had to die. I know I'm poor and need work, but I cannot work from a heartless woman like this. She is a mother and should know how it feels when a child is sick. I know I don't have the money, my husband is a pensioner and I get Child Support Grant. With this little money I will manage to care for my family." Amongst domestic workers who suffer are mostly Zimbabweans who entered the country illegally. They are exploited, over-worked and underpaid. They don't complain to Department of Labor because they are illegal refugees. They endure hardship and move from one job to the other. One Zimbabwean domestic worker said to me "my sister I know I'm suffering but I do not just accept any work. If madam have dogs and wants me to clean I refuse. In Zimbabwe, women are not allowed to clean up dog mess. It is regarded bad luck." In South Africa there are domestic workers who clean dog mess as part of their daily duties.

A beautiful and transformative memoir, Maria’s Scarf is the incredible story of a mother’s love, a family’s unbreakable bond, and a starry-eyed boy who never lost sight of his dreams. As the fatherless biracial child of a Mexican immigrant, Danny Donnelly was never expected to amount to much. Before the age of nine, his single mother had moved her seven children more than thirty times—from the impoverished streets of South Central Los Angeles to rural Oregon and everywhere in between. Sometimes there was no home to go to, so they slept in their ’62 Chevy; sometimes dinner was a slice of bread; sometimes they showered in a nearby park. Desperate yet ever hopeful, they clung to the only thing they had—each other. Through it all, Danny longed for his father’s love and approval, ultimately channeling his pain and transforming himself into Zoro, one of the world’s greatest drummers. Eloquent, hilarious, and remarkably tender, Maria’s Scarf: A Memoir of a Mother’s Love, a Son’s Perseverance, and Dreaming Big, tells the story of a family fighting for survival against almost insurmountable odds. Through laughter, tears, and many misadventures, Zoro touches the heart of every reader—young or old, citizen or immigrant—and speaks to the dreamer in all of us, emboldening everyone to live fantazmical lives.
