For tonight you discover the terrible secrets in the stranger’s house down the street. Maybe a horrible evil is hidden in the attic, leaching from the eyes of innocent dolls. The secrets behind these EVIL HOUSES make paranormal child's play. EVIL HOUSES is an original collection of haunted house thrillers that's a must-read for fans of ghost stories and tales of gripping terror. In The House From Hell, Mike, Trista, Greg and Tiffany conduct a paranormal investigation in a house where, twenty-eight years earlier, the father drowned his wife and son and bludgeoned his daughter to death before hanging himself. The investigation leads into the bowels of a preserved, abandoned realm where every clue exposes violent evil and each revelation deepens the terrifying, apocalyptic reality the team has exposed themselves to. In The Straw House, Steven and Brenda are living a normal life in the 1980's. Steven acquires building contracts and Brenda tends the home preparing for their life together. However, neither knows the ancient evil that stalks Steven's soul until Steven's memory is reawakened to his old sins and their consequences on Halloween night. In the darkness Brenda is seduced by witchcraft and Steven comes face to face with an inferno of evil more sinister than any closeted childhood fear. In Grave Incidents, David, a psychologist and dream analysis specialist, attempts to assist Rebecca (a woman suffering from horrific nightmares and a peculiar phobia) in resolving her inner turmoil. As the sessions reach deeper into Rebecca's soul, David soon discovers his own haunted past. This triggers a dangerous downward spiral for them both. Soon their highly charged emotions and own histories are revealed through supernatural visions, bloody secrets and a dark truth that can only be unraveled through a violent confrontation in a secluded house in deep wilderness. "A bone-chilling read!" says Joe Flynn, horror host of San Jose's popular "The Joe Flynn Show."

Haunted by restless ghosts and sinister spirits; these malicious creatures have names and they know yours. It is all the more frightening...because it is real. N.B. When I was seventeen we moved into a house of note, in the sophisticated backwoods of a “better part” of Arkansas. The elegant wood walls held the light of windows from heaven. The skylights, as they were, bathed the living room with sufficient light to hide the darkness beneath the floor. Moving from that room into the kitchen, with its regal appointments and then, into the upstairs master bedroom and Jacuzzi-clad bathroom finished the illuminated journey. Yet, the way downward was the path of note. There was carpet and dark and damp. First, on the right, was the door to the furnace room, with a massive, devouring cavern of iron teeth, waiting for its daily dose of wooden sacrifices. Then, a smaller bedroom, bathroom and a final, darker corner sleeping area. It was here I slept the years of my college life, rather than a dormitory appointment. The demon of the house was a more familiar roommate, a more intimate associate to my pain. Paralyzed with terror my limbs froze during the night hours as the masked intruder approached my body and wrapped its cold, blackly shrouded hands around my neck. Time and time again I opened my eyes to see the night realm held in place as the black mass undulated towards me, carrying its undisclosed intentions. There was even a day the presence moved freely during the light hours, a daring feat for the ruler of the darkness. It did not desire companionship, or conversation, only to rip the flesh of my soul. And I obliged with the scarred offering of a self-inflicted injury to my body. Herein are my credentials for pages you will read.

Commentary On The New Testament written by Robert H. Gundry and has been published by Baker Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-07-01 with Religion categories.

Verse-by-verse explanations with a literal translation Shouldn't a Bible commentary clarify what God's Word actually says? Going beyond questions of authorship, date, sources, and historicity, respected linguist and teacher Gundry offers a one-volume exposition of the New Testament that focuses on what is most useful for preaching, teaching, and individual study--what the biblical text really means. Providing interpretive observations in a "breezy" style that's easy to read and adaptable for oral use in pulpit or classroom presentations, Gundry directs his book to an evangelical audience. His crisp translation of the New Testament inserts various phrasings of passages in brackets, allowing for smooth transition from original text to alternative and contemporary readings. SAMPLE TEXT OF TRANSLATION JOHN'S PREDICTING A MORE POWERFUL BAPTIZER THAN HE (Mark 1:1-8) 1:1-3: The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, God's Son, according as it's written in Isaiah the prophet, "Behold, I'm sending my messenger before your face [= ahead of you], who'll pave your way [= the road you'll travel], [the messenger who is] the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.'" Pastors, Sunday school teachers, small-group leaders, and laypeople will welcome Gundry's non-technical explanations and clarifications. And Bible students at all levels will appreciate his sparkling interpretations of the NT Scriptures. A trustworthy guide for anybody wanting to delve deeper into God's Word. SAMPLE TEXT OF COMMENTS "Gospel" means "good news." Jews would associate this good news with Isaiah 52:7. Non-Jews would think of the good news of an emperor's accession to power, birthday, visit to a city, military victory, or bringing of prosperity to the empire. But Mark's good news has to do with the salvation and victory brought by Jesus over evil in all its demonic and physical forms. "The gospel of Jesus Christ" therefore means "the gospel about Jesus Christ" and refers to a proclaimed message ("the voice of one crying out"), not a book (though because books like Mark's contain that proclaimed message, the term came to refer to those books in the capitalized form of "Gospels" to distinguish them from the message, kept uncapitalized as "gospel").

Chapter I. The little travelling-clock that stood on the broad marble chimney-piece, looking strangely minute and insignificant on the slab supported by two huge Caryatides, had some minutes ago rapped out the hour of eight in its jingling voice, but here, in these high latitudes of Caithness, since the time of the year was close on midsummer, the sun still swung some way above the high hills to the north-west. It shone full, with the cool brightness of the light of Northern evenings, into the deep-seated window where Maud Raynham was sitting, waiting, without impatience, for impatience was alien to her serene habit of mind, but with a little touch of anxiety, for her brother's return. The anxiety, the wish that he would come, could not be absent, since affection and all its kindred cares were the hearth-side inhabitants of her heart. Also, it must be confessed, she was extremely hungry, and wanted dinner quite enormously. The window in which she sat was one of six, for the room was of great extent, and looked, perhaps, even larger than it really was owing to its half-dismantled condition, while the shining parquetted floor, almost bare of carpets, was like a surface of dim looking-glass, multiplying the area.

'The merriest tale of human depravity you will ever read' HILARY MANTEL Ivy Compton-Burnett's mordantly funny, unsparing dissection of the patriarchal family, back in print with an introduction by Hilary Mantel It is Christmas Day, 1885, and the Edgeworths are at each other's throats again. Duncan holds his wife and children captive to his authoritarian whims; every day brings fresh struggles for power. Before breakfast is over, there will be presents in the fire. When illness strikes the family, volatile tensions are unleashed that result in scandal, adultery and murder, while a crowd of gossiping neighbours watches gleefully on. A brutally funny demolition of patriarchal authority, A House and Its Head confirms Ivy Compton-Burnett's status as one of the unique stylists of twentieth-century English fiction, and its greatest chronicler of the violent dysfunction of families.
