Olive D. Osmond, known as "Mother Osmond" throughout the world, is the mother of the "Singing Osmonds" (Viri, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, & Jimmy). She has collected & created recipes since she was a child. Her school teacher Mother, Vera A. Davis, who always turned spare time into teaching moments, started this project during one summer vacation to teach her several different things: mail order (how to send for recipe books), filing (clipping & filing recipes from magazines & other sources), indexing (listing the recipes into categories), & cooking (testing, changing, creating new recipes). Most of the recipes are from her "tried & tested" file. Many were given to her by her Mother--some of which were handed down from grandparents. Others were from relatives, friends & her own research & development. She has thousands of recipes on file. This collection may be used as is (a cook book) or the recipes may be clipped & filed (card file) or put into special binders with protective sheets (categorized volumes).
