The boxes once belonging to Doctor Watson containing notes related to cases and adventures of his friend, Sherlock Holmes, are still not empty. Here we find five such adventures, four of which are mentioned in the original collections published through Watson's literary agent, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and brought together by Inknbeans Press for the first time. The Adventure of the Broken Door is mentioned briefly (but not by that name), in The Norwood Builder. The Adventure of the Green Dragon has an oriental flavour and is referenced (though the reference is obscure) in The Cardboard Box. The Adventure of John Vincent Harden is mentioned in by name in the Solitary Cyclist. The Adventure of the Copper Pins is mentioned (but not by that name) in The Five Orange Pips. The Adventure of the Deceased Doctor is unusual, as it occurs some two and half years after His Last Bow, when Holmes and Watson are both serving their country in the Great War.

Sherlock Holmes's beloved detective stories all have their origin in notes taken by Holmes's friend and biographer, Dr. John Watson. Now, fans can peek at this precious preliminary material, from letters to newspaper articles. The scrapbook includes Watson's sketches of the paw prints discovered near the body of Sir Charles Baskerville; the address label from the gruesome parcel sent to Susan Cushing in "The Adventure of the Cardboard Box"; and Holmes's final, heartrending letter to Watson before his violent struggle with Moriarty in "The Final Problem." All of the items are reproduced as genuine historical artifacts, complete with tears, stains, folds, and handwritten annotations--and 18 of them are in special "evidence" bags on the page, so you can remove them for a close-up look. It was late in the December of 1895 that Mr Sherlock Holmes became engaged upon a most singular and disturbing case. Indeed, I can think of no other that displayed the full range of his prodigious talents, or offered quite so chilling a dénouement. Furthermore, it brought us into contact with two quite remarkable-if very different-individuals...

He wrote many books and papers on the subject: The New Revelation The Vital Message The Wanderings of a Spiritualist The Coming of the Fairies The History of Spiritualism Pheneas Speaks The Spiritualist's Reader The Edge of the Unknown Stranger Than Fiction Fairies Photographed The Mediumship of Florence Cook The Houdini Enigma The Uncharted Coast The Law of the Ghost A New Light on Old Crimes The Shadows on the Screen An Old Story Retold The Absolute Proof A Worker of Wonders Memories and Adventures: An Autobiography Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was a British writer best known for his detective fiction featuring the character Sherlock Holmes.
