The lead essay in this book is the first effort to approach the historical figure of Muhammad in a manner comparable to the investigations that biblical scholars have made in the effort to recover the historical figure of Jesus. Using comparable methods and approaches, this study demonstrates that despite a widely held belief that Islam was born "in the full light of history," we in fact know considerably less about both Muhammad and the beginnings of Islam than we do about the historical Jesus and the beginnings of Christianity. Also included are republications of four previously published essays dealing with such topics as the Qur'an's status as a late ancient biblical apocryphon, the relation between the Jerusalem Temple and the Holy House revered by the Qur'an, and the imminent eschatology of the Qur'an and the early Islamic tradition.

This remarkably eye opening book for anyone interested in comparative religion, history and human psychology may find many surprises that challenge what many once believed to be absolute truths. This work reflects a meticulous and painstaking effort to present the findings clearly, concisely and thoroughly as a result of the study of comparative religious ideas, history and the psychological effects which impact adverse results in our present day thinking and correcting errors that crept into history. This effort is not intended to deride people and certainly not to mock anyone's beliefs. The intent is obviously to point out false charges, misconceptions and outright lies are in themselves deriding and mocking and a most odious thing. This book should prove to be a very valuable asset to mankind. People should be aware of what in fact has been taught to mankind as a result of studying this book which efforts to dispel darkness upon us all. May Gods Peace and Blessings Be With You All.

Valuable insights into key disputed topics from a veritable who's who of evangelical scholars In this volume thirty-seven first-rate evangelical scholars present a thorough study of biblical authority and a full range of issues connected to it. Recognizing that Scripture and its authority are now being both challenged and defended with renewed vigor, editor D. A. Carson assigned the topics that these select scholars address in the book. After an introduction by Carson to the many facets of the current discussion, the contributors present robust essays on relevant historical, biblical, theological, philosophical, epistemological, and comparative-religions topics. To conclude, Carson answers a number of frequently asked questions about the nature of Scripture, cross-referencing these FAQs to the preceding chapters. This comprehensive volume by a team of recognized experts will be the go-to reference on the nature and authority of the Bible for years to come. CONTRIBUTORS James Beilby Kirsten Birkett Henri A. G. The theme of prophets and prophecy is a central area of theological research and discussion in both Christianity and Islam. While academic researches on the prophets of Islamic tradition do exist, it is rare to find studies which compare them with the biblical accounts based on evangelical theology. This book provides theological analysis of the biblical prophets which appear in the Qur'an and the Islamic literature. The selection of prophets includes Adam, Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Yusuf (Joseph), Musa (Moses), Dawud (David), Ezekiel (Dhul-Kifl), Zakariya, Yahya (John, the Baptist), and Mary the Mother of Jesus. The contributors are a distinguished group of international scholars who combine impressive academic credentials with extensive ministry among Muslims. Moreover, the international nature of the contributors lends credibility to the work as an exercise in global theology. This book lays a good foundation for the comparison of scriptural and theological traditions of two world major religions and for generating further discussions.

The greatest hope of all the religious groups that awaited for scores of centuries with a dogma of their own Holy Books which witnessed the glory and the majesty of that personality called as 'Muhammad' and 'Ahmad' – 'the Glorious' and 'the Praised', on whom be peace and lasting blessings, which certainly got fulfilled when he finally arrived on the stage of the history. The Scriptures of the Prophets that went before him ended their tasks by heralding the tiding of his coming. Despite the textual corruption of those ancient scriptures, the golden sayings were still preserved by ALLAH, the One True God as a signpost for the honest and noble readers. The seekers of truth! Be certain of the fact that Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was the promised Prophet and the awaited saviour whom the Jews called as the King Messiah. His coming was prophesied by all the Prophets like Moses and Jesus (Peace Be Upon Them) long before his arrival, and he was also mentioned in the Old and New Testaments. Likewise, the Far East Indian scriptures never failed to mention ‘his name and praises’ which certainly constitute a miracle pertaining to him and confirming his Prophethood. In the light of the above facts, how could a man of wisdom escape from this overwhelming thought? Or will he still deny this truth? Or will he still await and hope that from Heaven angels would come and guide him when the final Message has already been delivered by 'Muhammadur Rasul ALLAH' to the creation of ALLAH in general, on whom be peace and lasting blessings? Indeed, it is ALLAH, the Lord of the worlds Who Himself calls on us to acknowledge this truth in the Holy Quran: "O mankind! The Messenger (Muhammad, on whom be peace and lasting blessings) hath come unto you with the Truth from your Lord. Therefore believe; (it is) better for you. But if ye disbelieve, still, lo! Unto ALLAH belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. ALLAH is ever Knower, Wise" - (4:170).

Volume One of this book will discuss about the true gospel of Jesus(as) which is about the imminent coming of the Son of Man and the establishment of the universal Kingdom of God on earth. We will emphasize the fact that the entire ministry of Jesus(as) is all about the good news of the imminent fulfillment of the “Son of Man Prophecy” and the “Kingdom of God Prophecy” of Prophet Daniel(as) as written in the Bible. Based on the correct context and interpretation, the Son of Man mentioned by Jesus(as) refers to Prophet Muhammad(saw) and the Kingdom of God refers to Islam. Volume Two will discuss about the fulfillment of the 70 Weeks Prophecy of Prophet Daniel(as). That this prophecy is actually a countdown to know the year Jesus(as) and Muhammad(saw) will come on earth. Jesus(as) is expected to arrive in the 69th Week of the countdown, and Prophet Muhammad(saw) will arrive in the 70th Week of the countdown. Its exact fulfillment in history (such as the year of their birth, the starting year of their ministry and the year their respective messianic mission will be accomplished) is a miracle or sign from Allah swt (Qur’an 20:133) and a clear evidence (Qur’an 61:6) attesting the veracity of the prophethood of both Jesus(as) and Muhammad(saw). This will explain to us why there are Jews who knew what time or year Jesus(as) will arrive on earth; and why there were Jews in Yathrib Arabia who knew what time or year Muhammad(saw) will emerge as Messenger of God.

Investigating a range of eschatological ideologies, this volume explores the connection between notions of sacred space and time in Jewish, Christian, and Muslim understandings of Jerusalem. The recognition of Jerusalem as a holy city both unites and divides Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. While these three religious traditions share a reverence for the same ancient city, this veneration leads more often to tension and violence than to commonality and cooperation. Each of these religions draws heavily from religious memory and eschatological prophecies, and sees Jerusalem as a site of past and future upheaval; however, the distinctions in their visions imbue Jerusalem with meanings that reinforce conflicting and contested ideologies. Offering multiple analyses of religious interpretations of the city and its sacred sites, this volume explores these divergent visions of the remembered and anticipated Jerusalem.
