Deploying Artificial Intelligence To Achieve The Un Sustainable Development Goals written by Arthur Guseni Oliver Mutambara and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-07-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book provides research insights into how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – 17 interconnected goals designed to address the world’s most pressing challenges by 2030. It reviews the SDGs and discusses why progress has been mixed and uneven across different countries, regions and goals. The book posits that attaining the SDGs will depend on enhanced global cooperation, increased funding, improved infrastructure, public-private partnerships, regional/continental integration, addressing the climate crisis, inclusive economic transformation, and visionary leadership. More specifically, the publication advocates leveraging innovative and transformative technologies, particularly the deployment of AI. The research acknowledges the risks of digital imperialism, data colonialism and technological exclusion, especially in emerging and least industrialised economies. Hence, in deploying AI to achieve the SDGs, the book puts a premium on decoloniality in AI systems and democratising AI technology. Provides a critique of the current SDGs approach by reframing the goals as a comprehensive risk assessment of humanity’s most pressing threats in the 21st century; Features broad and holistic interventions to accelerate the attainment of the SDGs; Provides a comprehensive but accessible introduction to AI concepts and advanced innovations such as AlphaFold, ChatGPT-4, DeepSeek-R1, Grok 3, and autonomous vehicles (drones and driverless cars); Discusses the AI strategies of leading economies and assesses the impact of AI on geopolitics; Provides a comprehensive critique of global AI efforts by the UN and African Union, while proffering alternative paradigms and frameworks; Presents the enablers, drivers and strategic framework of AI deployment to achieve the SDGs; Develops and presents details of six distinct but related components of a novel Strategic Framework for developing and adopting AI – Vision, Strategy, Policy, Governance, Legislation/Regulations, and Implementation Matrix; Outlines specific ways that AI can be deployed to achieve each of the 17 SDGs and reviews seven countries’ experiences; Explores an innovative, forward-looking, and technology-driven framework for equitable global socio-economic transformation to succeed the SDGs post-2030.

Cybersecurity And Artificial Intelligence written by Hamid Jahankhani and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-04-17 with Computers categories.

This book discusses a range of topics that are essential to understanding cyber security, including legal implications and technical aspects, cyber detection, and minimising the threats so that governments and organisations can function without noticeable degradation of service. Unlike other technological threats, cyber security threats have the potential to destroy governments and undermine democratic processes – which makes an overarching cyber security strategy essential for all functioning governments. Thus, the book serves as a guide for developing strategies and ideas in the field and as a motivator for other governments and interested parties to develop and implement effective strategies. Arguably the most difficult aspect of these strategies is their implementation, which will require a cultural sea change in governments’ approaches to handling cyber security and developing a regulatory framework that links organisations and governments in a secure working environment. The development of cyber security strategies calls for new skills at the technical and user levels alike. However, IT skills are sometimes in short supply, and without a government policy on cyber security training, the lack of these skills could hamper the full potential of cyber security. The book explores various aspects and challenges of cyber security strategy and highlights the benefits and drawbacks, offering in-depth insights into the field.

The Relational Governance Of Artificial Intelligence written by Sabine Wiesmüller and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-02-03 with Business & Economics categories.

This book addresses the development and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in and by companies and the consequent need for private sector AI regulation. Highlighting the challenges to responsible business conduct and considering stakeholder interests, it identifies ethical concerns and discusses AI standards and AI norms. Based on this needs-based analysis, the author chooses relational economics as a suitable approach to develop a theoretical AI governance model. In doing so, AI is conceptualized within relational economics in the form of an autopoietic system. Building on this theoretical contribution, the book specifies the governance adaptivity of the relational AI governance approach for an unregulated AI market and for the case of the pending E.U. AI regulation, and complements it with inductively conducted categories that summarize the main research streams in AI ethics.

The Dark Side of Uncensored Artificial Intelligence" by Ryan Keeler, published on April 9, 2024, is a comprehensive exploration into the complexities and risks associated with AI systems that operate with minimal content moderation. This book critically examines the notion of "uncensored" AI, addressing the potential dangers and ethical dilemmas that arise when AI is allowed to function without the typical safeguards that prevent the generation of harmful or biased content. Ryan Keeler delves deep into the technological underpinnings of these AI systems, discussing the advanced machine learning and natural language processing technologies that enable them to engage in seemingly authentic and unrestricted conversations. While these capabilities can enhance user experiences and offer new educational tools, they also present significant challenges in terms of privacy, security, and the potential propagation of misinformation. The book offers a balanced view, presenting the transformative potential of these AI systems alongside the possible negative impacts on society. Keeler advocates for robust ethical frameworks and stringent regulatory measures to mitigate these risks. He explores various approaches to managing the dual nature of AI, including the development of new moderation technologies that can discern between harmful and benign content without suppressing open dialogue. In essence, "The Dark Side of Uncensored Artificial Intelligence" provides a critical lens through which to view the future of AI development, emphasizing the need for a careful balance between innovation and ethical responsibility to ensure that AI technologies benefit society while minimizing their potential harm.

Climate Changing Processes written by Adam Jabłoński and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-09-17 with Science categories.

The aim of the monograph is to present a modern and innovative approach to the issues of dysfunctions of economic and social ecosystems caused by climate anomalies. The deformation of the economic and social system caused by climate change has a surprising dimension and the degree of impact of climate change on the organizational behavior of various types of entities determines in many cases their ability to survive. Survival does not apply to all organizations, but only to those that are able to make appropriate, effective and efficient decisions in an environment of many crises. They should result from the logic, methodology of the conceptual framework adequate for the management mechanisms of a given type of organization, taking into account sectoral conditions.
