Starting from the capacity for multi-antenna systems, this book reviews radiation, propagation, and communication mechanisms with particular attention to the vectorial, directional, and time-frequency characteristics of the wireless communication equation for low and high scattering environments. Based on these concepts, space-time methods for diversity and multiplexing applications are discussed, multi-antenna modeling is studied, and specific tools are introduced to analyze antenna coupling mechanisms and appropriate decorrelation techniques. Miniaturization techniques for closely spaced antennas are studied and its fundamental limits and optimization strategies are reviewed. Finally, different practical multi-antenna topologies for new communication applications are presented and their main parameters discussed.

This dissertation studies the communication technologies in relaying systems with multiple antennas, especially in the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) two-way relaying systems. Both information-theoretic aspects and practical communication strategies are considered and analyzed. For the information-theoretic analysis, an analytical framework for the coverage of MIMO relaying systems based on an outage capacity criterion is proposed. For MIMO two-way relaying systems, different data combining schemes at the relay are compared based on their achievable rates. In addition, optimal time-division (TD) strategies for MIMO two-way decode-and-forward (DF) relaying systems are proposed and analyzed. When the optimal TD strategies are applied, the increase of the achievable rate regions in the system is significant compared to those using the equal TD strategy. For the practical transmission schemes, we propose the self-interference (SI) aided channel estimation and data detection schemes for the broadcast phase of two-way DF relaying systems. Such schemes exploit the SI in two-way DF relaying systems when the superposition coding (SPC) scheme is applied. When the network coding scheme is applied in two-way DF relaying systems, we propose an asymmetric data rate transmission scheme that utilizes the known data bits at the receivers. Such a scheme exploits the a priori known bits at the weak link receiver in the broadcast phase of two-way relaying systems.

Multi Antenna Synthetic Aperture Radar written by Wen-Qin Wang and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-12 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a well-known remote sensing technique, but conventional single-antenna SAR is inherently limited by the minimum antenna area constraint. Although there are still technical issues to overcome, multi-antenna SAR offers many benefits, from improved system gain to increased degrees-of-freedom and system flexibility. Multi-Antenna Synthetic Aperture Radar explores the potential and challenges of using multi-antenna SAR in microwave remote sensing applications. These applications include high-resolution imaging, wide-swath remote sensing, ground moving target indication, and 3-D imaging. The book pays particular attention to the signal processing aspects of various multi-antenna SAR from a top-level system perspective. Explore Recent Extensions of Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems The backbone of the book is a series of innovative microwave remote sensing approaches developed by the author. Centered around multi-antenna SAR imaging, these approaches address specific challenges and potential problems in future microwave remote sensing. Chapters examine single-input multiple-output (SIMO) multi-antenna SAR, including azimuth and elevation multi-antenna SAR, and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) SAR. The book details the corresponding system scheme, signal models, time/phase/spatial synchronization methods, and high-precision imaging algorithms. It also investigates their potential applications. Introductory Tutorials and Novel Approaches in Multi-Antenna SAR Imaging Rigorous and self-contained, this is a unique reference for researchers and industry professionals working with microwave remote sensing, SAR imaging, and radar signal processing. In addition to novel approaches, the book also presents tutorials that serve as an introduction to multi-antenna SAR imaging for those who are new to the field.
