In multicriteria decision making (MCDM), multi-hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets (MHFLTSs) can eliminate the limitations of hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets (HFLTSs) and hesitant fuzzy linguistic sets (HFLSs), and emphasize the importance of a repeated linguistic term (LT). Meanwhile, there is usually an interrelation between criteria.

Information management is a common paradigm in modern decision-making. A wide range of decision-making techniques have been proposed in the literature to model complex business and engineering processes. In this Special Issue, 16 selected and peer-reviewed original research articles contribute to business information management in various current real-world problems by proposing crisp or uncertain multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) models and techniques, mostly including multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) approaches, in addition to a single paper proposing an interactive multi-objective decision-making (MODM) approach. Particular attention is devoted to information aggregation operators—65% of papers dealt with this item. The topics of this Special Issue gained attention in Europe and Asia. A total of 48 authors from seven countries contributed to this Issue. The papers are mainly concentrated in three application areas: supplier selection and rational order allocation, the evaluation and selection of goods or facilities, and personnel selection/partner selection. A number of new approaches are proposed that are expected to attract great interest from the research community.

Zadeh's fuzzy set theory incorporates the impreciseness of data and evaluations, by imputting the degrees by which each object belongs to a set. Its success fostered theories that codify the subjectivity, uncertainty, imprecision, or roughness of the evaluations. Their rationale is to produce new flexible methodologies in order to model a variety of concrete decision problems more realistically. This Special Issue garners contributions addressing novel tools, techniques and methodologies for decision making (inclusive of both individual and group, single- or multi-criteria decision making) in the context of these theories. It contains 38 research articles that contribute to a variety of setups that combine fuzziness, hesitancy, roughness, covering sets, and linguistic approaches. Their ranges vary from fundamental or technical to applied approaches.

This book introduces the current research progress on hesitant fuzzy decision-making based on probability theory and methods. From the perspectives of theory expansion, information fusion, and information mining, it explores novel perspectives, ideas, and techniques for addressing hesitant fuzzy uncertain decision-making problems and demonstrates them through practical applications and case studies. It aims to provide a reference for researchers, practitioners, and graduate students in the fields of decision analysis, fuzzy theory, and information fusion.

Aggregation function is an important component in an information aggregation or information fusion system. Interrelationships usually exist between the input arguments (e.g., the criteria in the multicriteria decision making) of an aggregation function. In this paper, we make a comprehensive survey on the aggregation operators (AOs) that consider the argument interrelationships in crisp and fuzzy settings. In particular, we discuss the mechanisms of modeling the argument interrelationships of the Choquet integral (CI), the power average (PA), the Bonferroni mean (BM), the Heronian mean (HM), and the Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM) operators, and introduce their extended (e.g., generalized or weighted) forms and their applications in different fuzzy sets. In addition, we compare these ve types of operators and summarize their advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, we discuss the applications of these operators. Finally, we identify some future research directions in the AOs considering the argument interrelationships. The reviewed papers are mainly about the development of the CI, the PA, the BM, the HM, and the MSM in (fuzzy) MCDMs, most of which fall in the period of 20092018.

The undergraduate teaching audit and evaluation (UTAE) is critically important for university to promote the establishment of a quality assurance system and improve the quality of teaching. In considering the case of UTAE, the essential question that arises strong ambiguity and interaction. The Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM), as a significant information integration tool, can seize the interrelation among multiple input values more effectively.

Fuzzy Logic Based Software Systems written by Konstantina Chrysafiadi and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-15 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book aims to provide information about significant advances of Fuzzy Logic in software systems to researchers, scientists, educators, students, software engineers and developers. In particular, this book explains how Fuzzy Logic, can be used in software systems to automatically predict, model, decide, diagnose, recommend etc.. In more details, Fuzzy Logic is an artificial intelligent technique that is ideal for successfully addressing, , the uncertainty, imprecision and vagueness that exist in many diverse scientific and technological areas. It was introduced by Lotfi A. Zadeh of the University of California at Berkeley, as a methodology for computing with words. This ability of Fuzzy Logic allows the representation of imprecise and vague data in a more realistic way. Therefore, Fuzzy Logic-based systems can simulate the human reasoning and decision-making processes, addressing the human subjectivity. Fuzzy Logic-based software systems are referred to any software that concerns an automated program or process that is used in everyday life, like heating or air-conditioning system, or in the scientific world, like a medical diagnostic system, which uses Fuzzy Logic in order to perform reasoning. A Fuzzy Logic-based system consists of three basic modules: Fuzzifier, Inference Engine and Defuzzifier. The Fuzzifier accepts as input numerical data and assigns them to fuzzy sets with some degree of membership, converting crisp data to fuzzy sets. The Inference Engine applies fuzzy rules over the defined fuzzy sets and produces outputs based on linguistic information. The Defuzzifier, converts fuzzy values into crisp values. The use of Fuzzy Logic in software systems constitutes a compelling and active research area in recent years, especially due to the increased interest in artificial intelligence. In the view of the above, this book presents thoroughly the Fuzzy Logic theory and the structure and operation of a Fuzzy Logic-based system. It also explains the role of Fuzzy Logic in artificial intelligence and smart applications, presenting how it can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of automatic processes and tasks. Furthermore, the book describes techniques of artificial intelligence with which the fuzzy logic is combined and how. Furthermore, this book presents several Fuzzy Logic-based software systems in the discipline of medicine, education, decision making and recommendation, natural language processing, automotive engineering and industry, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, navigation, scheduling, network traffic and security. Thereby, this book can provide deep insights and valuable information not only to readers of computer science-related disciplines, but also to readers, who come from a variety of disciplines and are interesting in systems that perform tasks related to their discipline, in a more efficient way.

As an expansion of 2-tuple linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy set, the newly developed 2-tuple linguistic neutrosophic set (2-TLNS) is more satisfactory to define decision maker’s assessment information in decision making problems. 2-TLN aggregation operators are of great significance in multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems with a 2-tuple linguistic environment. Therefore, in this article our main contribution is to develop novel 2-TLN power Heronian aggregation (2-TLNPHM) operators.
