Multiple Parameter Stability Theory And Its Applications written by Koncay Huseyin and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1986 with Philosophy categories.

Written from an original, engineering point of view, this volume presents a general nonlinear theory concerning the stability, instability, bifurcation, and oscillatory behavior of autonomous systems. Huseyin stresses analytical procedures which lead to construction of asymptotic solutions. He analyzes various bifurcation phenomena and the associated imperfection-sensitivities via the multiple-parameter perturbation technique, a method which generates distinct forms of equilibrium surfaces linked to "elementary catastrophes." In addition, he introduces an intrinsic harmonic balancing technique to analyze the dynamic bifurcations, resulting in a unified treatment of both static and dynamic bifurcation phenomena within an autonomous framework. Throughout the work, the presentation is conceptually simple and practical.

Multiparameter Stability Theory With Mechanical Applications written by Alexander P. Seyranian and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book deals with fundamental problems, concepts, and methods of multiparameter stability theory with applications in mechanics. It presents recent achievements and knowledge of bifurcation theory, sensitivity analysis of stability characteristics, general aspects of nonconservative stability problems, analysis of singularities of boundaries for the stability domains, stability analysis of multiparameter linear periodic systems, and optimization of structures under stability constraints. Systems with finite degrees of freedom and with continuous models are both considered. The book combines mathematical foundation with interesting classical and modern mechanical problems.A number of mechanical problems illustrating how bifurcations and singularities change the behavior of systems and lead to new physical phenomena are discussed. Among these problems, the authors consider systems of rotating bodies, tubes conveying fluid, elastic columns under the action of periodic and follower forces, optimization problems for conservative systems, etc. The methods presented are constructive and easy to implement in computer programs. This book is addressed to graduate students, academics, researchers, and practitioners in aerospace, naval, civil, and mechanical engineering. No special background is needed; just a basic knowledge of mathematics and mechanics.

Uncertainty Modeling In Finite Element Fatigue And Stability Of Systems written by Achintya Haldar and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The functionality of modern structural, mechanical and electrical or electronic systems depends on their ability to perform under uncertain conditions. Consideration of uncertainties and their effect on system behavior is an essential and integral part of defining systems. In eleven chapters, leading experts present an overview of the current state of uncertainty modeling, analysis and design of large systems in four major areas: finite and boundary element methods (common structural analysis techniques), fatigue, stability analysis, and fault-tolerant systems. The content of this book is unique; it describes exciting research developments and challenges in emerging areas, and provide a sophisticated toolbox for tackling uncertainty modeling in real systems.

Nonlinear Stability Of Structures written by A.N. Kounadis and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-05-04 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The present volume gives a very modern treatment of all theoretical as well as computational aspects of nonlinear structural stability. The theoretical part starts with the basic concepts of nonlinear static stability and classical dynamics and proceeds subsequently with recent progress in nonlinear dynamic stability and dynamic buckling of structures including an introduction to chaos. The first paper overviews theory and modelling of various structural instability problems. In the second section, nonlinear dynamic buckling and stability of autonomous discrete dissipative structural systems, gradient and non-gradient are discussed. The third paper handles stability and bifurcation phenomena in dynamical systems. The fourth paper contains an introduction to nonlinear dynamics and chaos. Special attention is devoted to the direct computation of critical points and path-switching strategies. A variety of numerical simulations for complicated nonlinear unstable responses also illustrate this part.

Stability Of Nonlinear Shells written by D. Shilkrut and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-06-18 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Stability of NonLinear Shells is a compilation of the author's work on analyzing the behaviour of spherical caps and related shell structures under various (axisymmetric) load systems. Differing from other texts on shells of revolution, it is one of the first attempts to deal with effects of multi-parameter load systems. This extension leads to the discovery of some new, hitherto unknown phenomena exhibited by these structures. In addition, the book presents a novel way to characterize properties of solutions of the governing equations for spherical caps - a classification anchored in a theory called reciprocal systems. The author has introduced a deformation map, a projection of multi-dimensional solutions to two-dimensional graphs, to enable analysts to gain insight into the physical meaning of the results obtained. Numerous examples illustrate the concepts introduced. This book also comes to grips with many misconceptions existing in engineering literature about the question of the stability of solutions.

The aim of the book is to fill up the gaps between theoretical, numerical, and practical design approaches in the field of coupled instabilities of metal structures. The book is organized in a way leading progressively from the mathematical basic theories to the design aspects through numerical and semi-empirical approaches of the interactive buckling of metal structures. Optimum design account taken of coupled instabilities and code aspects are also briefly covered.
