This book came about when my 4 year old son asked me a question. The question was “why are you crying mummy, does Daddy make you cry?” I thought then that it would benefit many people, both old and young to understand about bipolar disorder. I wanted to write a book that explained very simply what it was like to live with bipolar disorder and what it was like for their loved ones and friends. There are many different types of bipolar disorder and many different extremes, many people are afraid of the word “bipolar” but I want this book to show that there is nothing to be afraid of. With the right treatment and support, a person with bipolar disorder can live a happy life, though there are a few bumps along the way sometimes. I hope this book gives insight to those people that do not understand the illness and supports people, family and loved ones who do have this illness. This book has been illustrated by my 12 year old daughter and what the words may not portray, her pictures certainly do.

Mummydaddy written by Jeremy Howe and has been published by Pan Macmillan this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-03-01 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

In the summer of 1992, Jeremy Howe and his wife, Lizzie, were tending to last-minute holiday preparations. Lizzie was leaving to teach at a summer school before she could join Jeremy and their two daughters, Jessica, six and Lucy, four, at the seaside. That night, arriving at his mother’s in Suffolk, Jeremy managed to get the excited girls to go to sleep, irritated that their mother hadn't called to say goodnight as she had promised. Just after midnight the household was woken by a policeman who had come to tell them that Lizzie was dead. She had been murdered. Twenty years after that terrible night, Jeremy and his girls are not the people they might have been had Lizzie not died. They’re certainly different, but not damaged. This is the candid, heartrending story of how they got there, of how, faced with the worst thing that could possibly happen, they put their lives back together, bit by bit and piece by piece. It's a story of how Daddy became Mummydaddy and of the pitfalls along the way, from how on earth you decide what to tell your children about their mother's violent death to the practicalities of knowing what they like in their packed lunch; from helping your children to grieve when your own grief is so sharp it threatens to overwhelm you to making sure that they brush their teeth and comb their hair. It's a story full of tears, but also of love and family and redemption.

My Invisible Scars written by Willa-Mae E. Scot and has been published by FriesenPress this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-10 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

Like the best of memoir writing, My Invisible Scars is alternately brutally honest, sad, triumphant, tense, motivating, uncomfortable, and unforgettable. Relying on journals that she has kept since childhood, Canadian author Willa-Mae E. Scot articulately recounts in (mostly) chronological order the highs and lows of her long life, beginning with her early childhood in a small Saskatchewan town. Willa-Mae writes candidly about terrible disappointments, life-threatening ordeals, and her incredible and unwavering determination to put aside countless negative experiences, and live, embrace, and enjoy life to the fullest. This memoir is a must-read book for anyone whose life has been derailed by the unexpected loss of a loved one, violence, family break-up, infidelity, addictions, abandonment, or by poor, sometimes non-existent, choices. Those who have suffered through trauma and struggled to put that trauma behind them will see their journey reflected in these pages and be reassured that, even when down at rock bottom, they can find a way to be happy again. My Invisible Scars is instructive and inspiring, enlightening and engaging, and a great testament to its author’s tremendous courage and forthrightness. Most of all it is a testament to her enviable ability to offer forgiveness to the many people who have hurt her, and then gracefully move forward in life.
