The shocking exposé of a carny’s murder arranged by his wife—and the daughter who threatened the author to keep the truth from getting out. In his account of the sensational life and murder of Grady Stiles Jr., also known as the legendary carnival “freak” Lobster Boy, author Fred Rosen explains how Stiles’s death was engineered by his wife, Mary Teresa, the carny known as the Electrified Girl. Rosen describes how Mary Teresa arranged for her husband’s murder after years of physical and emotional abuse. The narrative is full of appearances from the couple’s colorful acquaintances, including the World’s Only Living Half Girl, Midget Man, and the Human Blockhead. During Mary Teresa’s dramatic trial, Rosen becomes a character in his own book. When both he and the prosecution are threatened by Mary Teresa’s daughter, who Rosen believes was a co-conspirator although she was never indicted, the writer risks his life in pursuit of the truth and the evidence that leads to Mary Teresa’s conviction.

The first book in the Angelique De Xavier series, from multi-award-winning author Chris Brookmyre. We all make life choices. Some cause more mayhem than others. Back when they were students, just like everybody else, Ray Ash and Simon Darcourt had dreams about what they'd do when they grew up. In both their cases, it was to be rock stars. Fifteen years later, their mid-thirties are bearing down fast, and just like everybody else, they're having to accept the less glamorous hands reality has dealt them. Nervous new father Ray takes refuge from his responsibilities by living a virtual existence in online games. People say he needs to grow up, but everybody has to find their own way of coping. For some it's affairs, for others it's the bottle, and for Simon it's serial murder, mass slaughter and professional assassination. PRAISE FOR CHRIS BROOKMYRE 'In the pantheon of great crime writers' Elly Griffiths 'Keeps you guessing until the very end' The Times 'Offers a brilliantly scathing portrayal of humanity' Time Out

The Politics Of Murder written by Margo Nash and has been published by WildBlue Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-11-22 with True Crime categories.

This true crime investigation of a Boston teenager’s murder trial is “a chilling story about corruption, political power and a stacked judicial system" (John Ferak, author of Failure of Justice). On a hot night in July 1995, Janet Downing was stabbed ninety-eight times in her Somerville home, two miles northwest of Boston. Within hours, fifteen-year-old Eddie O’Brien was identified as the prime suspect. The best friend of one of Janet’s sons, Eddie was a peculiar choice. He had no criminal record or symptoms of mental illness. He had neither motive nor opportunity to commit the crime—while others had both. And yet, powers far beyond Somerville decided that Eddie was guilty. Perhaps it was politics. At the time, a movement targeting the supposed scourge of young “superpredators” was sweeping the nation. Dubbed the alter boy murder case by Court TV, Eddie’s trial garnered national publicity and changed juvenile law in Massachusetts. But, as attorney Margo Nash demonstrates in this explosive expose, the justice system failed Eddie. Appointed Eddie’s guardian ad litem, Nash attended every court session and gained access to his files. Examining the investigation, trial transcripts, and forensic evidence, Nash demonstrates that Eddie could not have committed the crime and that other viable suspects were never properly considered. Now readers can decide if politics sent an innocent boy to adult prison for the rest of his life.

The lives of both Tupac Shakur (2pac) and Christopher Wallace (The Notorious B.I.G.) are as similar as they are different paradoxically. And they will forever be intertwined especially, when both their stories will continue to be sold and told dually together throughout the rest of history and eternity. And they can only be described as the proverbial yin and yang to one another. They were both raised by strong black mothers. Tupac was raised by the very wise and intelligent Afeni Shakur, while Christopher (Biggie Smalls) was reared by the very loving and affectionate Violetta Wallace. Both of their mothers were intricate and central parts of their lives, upbringings, and musical careers. And Afeni and Voletta were both left behind to pick up the pieces of their son’s musical businesses, careers, as well as their legacies, after they were tragically murdered in the streets by their assailants. Afeni and Voletta are two more grieving mothers of young black men who were victims of high-profile murders that both have yet to be solved as closed cold cases, and also in the court of public opinion. 2Pac and Biggie Smalls both grew up in poverty situations. Biggie had it a little bit better being that his mother was well-educated, and she ending up becoming a school teacher. 2pac experienced a very different struggle growing up and being raised in the Black Panther community. Although they were poor Afeni and 2pac were both well-educated and highly intelligent beings. The music industry can turn best friends into enemies. Sadly, 2pac and Biggie didn't get the chance or opportunity to get things right between the two of them before both of their untimely deaths, destructions, and demises. Neither one of them had their fathers in their lives to teach them how to be men and settle their differences and opinions like gentlemen. BIG did have the chance and opportunity to experience fatherhood for himself and if he had some more time, I believe that him and Tupac would have eventually squashed their media-driven and musical industry differences. They are both hip-hop legends and they will both continue to inspire and influence the masses as well as the rap music industry, culture, future, and community. 2pac and Biggie Smalls both believed that they would suffer untimely deaths and demises at a very young age. And both of their predictions, projections, and prophetic intuitions ended up becoming a very tragic reality.

A cult figure among loyalists, despised and feared by nationalists, Billy 'King Rat' Wright is reputed to have been involved in a number of sectarian murders before he himself was shot dead by republican gunmen inside the Maze Prison in 1997. Wright became involved with loyalist paramilitaries at the age of 16, and in the early 1990s he emerged as the UVF commander in the Mid-Ulster area. The Billy Boy documents Wright's role in the Drumcree dispute of 1995-96 and his split from the UVF, recounting how he ignored both a death threat and an order to leave Northern Ireland, only to remain in Portadown and form the Loyalist Volunteer Force. It covers Wright's trial and subsequent imprisonment for a crime it has been claimed was set up by the State; recounts the circumstances of his killing inside a top-security prison; and investigates the allegations of State collusion in Wright's death. Terrifically gripping and often disturbing, The Billy Boy is an exhaustive account of a notorious figure of the Troubles, whose life and death were surrounded by controversy and political debate.
