Die Einwanderungsbewegung, in der fast eine Million Syrer:innen innerhalb des letzten Jahrzehnts vor dem Krieg in ihrem Land geflohen und nach Deutschland immigriert sind, hat die Soundscapes deutscher Städte verändert. Auch Würzburg wird schon länger durch neue Klänge belebt. Im Stadtteil Frauenland hört man aus den Lautsprechern des syrischen Bistros Firas Feinekost den Aleppinischen Sänger Adeeb al-Dayekh. Am Mainufer erschallen aus vorbeifahrenden Autos Dabke-Rhythmen. Und wer im Hofgarten der Residenz an den Fenstern des Instituts für Musikforschung vorbeispaziert, kann den Klängen der Oud lauschen, deren Spiel der aus as-Suwayda stammende Musiker Akhtam Abou Fakher seine Studierenden lehrt. "Syrische Tonspuren in Würzburg", eine Kooperation des Lehrstuhls für Ethnomusikologie und der Studiensammlung Musikinstrumente & Medien an der Universität Würzburg, möchte diese Klänge dokumentieren und weiterführen. In seinem Zentrum stand eine Ausstellung, in der Objekte erkundet werden konnten - etwa Instrumente aus der Sammlung, ein Foto von Aleppos Umayyaden-Moschee aus dem Jahr 2009 oder ein Bild des Grafikdesigners Omar Shammah, das einen Liedtext der ägyptischen Sängerin Um Kulthum zu einer Erinnerung an seine Heimat umdeutet. Diese Objekte erzählen Geschichten, die zum einen nach Syrien, zum anderen an verschiedene Orte im heutigen Würzburg führen. Die Fäden dieser Geschichten verfolgt der vorliegende Band in einer Reihe von Spurensuchen, Reflexionen und Interviews.

Die Förderung des moralischen Urteils stellt grundsätzlich eine wichtige Erziehungsaufgabe dar. Ziel hierbei ist der reflektierte Erwerb von Normen und Werten, welcher die individuelle Verselbstständigung unter Berücksichtigung der sozialen Verantwortung fördert und somit einen Gegenentwurf zu einer Überbetonung egoistisch-hedonistischer Interessen einerseits und einer Indoktrination fremder Wertmaßstäbe andererseits darstellt. Obwohl die Bedeutung dieses Themas für Schülerinnen und Schüler mit Verhaltensstörungen unzweifelhaft ist, wird ihm bisher wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Die vorliegende Arbeit tritt diesem Forschungsdesiderat entgegen und leistet einen Beitrag zur Diskussion über das moralische Urteil von Schülerinnen und Schülern mit Verhaltensstörungen aus kohlbergianischer und neo-kohlbergianischer Perspektive.

Der vorliegende Band versammelt die Beiträge eines interdisziplinären Symposiums über Musikausstellungen, das im Rahmen eines größeren Projektes an der Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen stattfand. Kuratorische Intentionen und Rezeptionsweisen ergeben sich in Abhängigkeit von vielfältigen Bedingungen. Entsprechend breit gefächert ist die Spanne möglicher Untersuchungsfelder. Die Autorinnen und Autoren widmen sich der Präsentation von musikalischen Themen im Museum aus musikhistorischer, musikethnologischer, musikpädagogischer und museumspädagogischer Perspektive. Ihre Erkenntnisse und Erwägungen basieren ebenso auf museumspraktischen Erfahrungen wie auf akademischen Studien. Isolde Ahlgrimm (1914-1995) was an important pioneer in the revival of Baroque and Classical keyboard instruments in her native city, Vienna, and later, throughout Europe and the United States. She trained as a pianist at the Musikakademie in Vienna under the instruction of Viktor Ebenstein, Emil von Sauer and Franz Schmidt. In 1934 she met the musical instrument collector, Dr Erich Fiala, whom she married in 1938. His activities opened up the world of early instruments to her. Using a 1790 fortepiano by Michael Rosenberger, Isolde Ahlgrimm began her career as a specialist on early keyboard instruments with the first in her notable series of Concerte fr Kenner und Liebhaber, given in Vienna's Palais Palffy in February 1937. Ahlgrimm's career as a harpsichordist also began in 1937, when a new instrument was commissioned from the Ammer brothers in Eisenberg, Germany. In 1943 Ahlgrimm performed her first all-harpsichord programme, which consisted of the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach. From 1949 to 1956, she devoted herself to performing and recording nearly all of Bach's harpsichord music for the newly-founded Dutch label, Philips, presenting her new approach to the harpsichord to a wider audience. Ahlgrimm's performances of Baroque music represented a radical departure from the distinctly twentieth-century interpretations by the much more famous Wanda Landowska and her followers. Most obviously, Ahlgrimm's harpsichord performances eliminated frequent registration changes (her instrument had hand stops rather than pedals to change registers), and largely eschewed the massive ritardandi and other anachronistic performance practices that were hallmarks of Landowska's essentially Romantic style. Ahlgrimm researched and emphasized rhetorical traditions on which the music was based. This became more pronounced throughout the course of her later performing, writing and teaching career, and it was the beginning of an approach to the performance of eighteenth-century musi

In 1963, with his first individual show Exposition of Music. Electronic Television at the legendary Galerie Parnass in Wuppertal, Germany, the young Nam June Paik literally created a new genre of exhibition. The visitors, who were greeted in front of the entrance with a freshly slaughtered ox head, were not only confronted with the newness of the electronic image, but also found themselves integrated into a Dadaist scenario staged with prepared pianos, mechanical sound objects along with record players and audio tape installations. Together with documents, photographs and the works of Paik, this catalogue recreates scenes from the original show, letting the works again come to life in their original context.
