Part One begins with the seeding of Ruchis passion to find a better way after experiencing her dads cancer journey. Pumpkin seeds, grape juice and hands-on healing were what she came up with at that time. Today, however, there is a wealth of practitioners with expertise in natural medicine and Ruchi tells the tale of how she brought together what was best for her belief system, resources and cancer. She called this the Chemo/Turmeric Dance, traditional and natural medicine stepping a complimentary pathway. Part Two offers an informative guide to what Ruchi considers to be contributory factors towards todays cancer epidemic. These include electromagnetic frequencies, dental practices, radiation, modern farming methods resulting in chemical-laden genetically modified food and environmental chemicals. Valuable information is offered on integrative and alternative cancer clinics and complimentary therapies that can support a return to wellness and reduce side effects, if experiencing traditional medicine. Part Three includes an example of a blueprint for healing and gentle life-affirming techniques to support when putting together a wellness plan. Part Four gives information on scientists, practitioners and authors whose work may be of interest. The journey is different for each person, the alchemy of body chemistry, belief system, hopes, dreams and the cancer call for a potpourri of therapies to support healing. Aging Angry written by Amanda Smith Barusch and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-07 with Social Science categories.

Fear of anger can ultimately be as destructive as expressed rage, fomenting social isolation, injustice, and misunderstanding. In Aging Angry: Making Peace with Rage, Amanda Smith Barusch argues that now, more than ever, it is time for older adults to turn toward anger rather than denying or avoiding it. By taking anger seriously, we can neutralize its destructive potential and harness its energy and wisdom for personal and social change. Barusch draws upon the experiences of hundreds of older adults and a wealth of literary and academic sources to empower readers with new understanding of anger's sources, dynamics, and possibilities. Topics range from anger and race in the United States to mass violence committed by older adults to aged activists who have changed our world. In rich and insightful prose, accompanied throughout by powerful case studies, Aging Angry forcefully demonstrates that anger--and even rage--can be transformative.

Constructions Of Cancer In Early Modern England written by Alanna Skuse and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-11-11 with Literary Criticism categories.

This book is open access under a CC-BY licence. Cancer is perhaps the modern world's most feared disease. Yet, we know relatively little about this malady's history before the nineteenth century. This book provides the first in-depth examination of perceptions of cancerous disease in early modern England. Looking to drama, poetry and polemic as well as medical texts and personal accounts, it contends that early modern people possessed an understanding of cancer which remains recognizable to us today. Many of the ways in which medical practitioners and lay people imagined cancer – as a 'woman's disease' or a 'beast' inside the body – remain strikingly familiar, and they helped to make this disease a byword for treachery and cruelty in discussions of religion, culture and politics. Equally, cancer treatments were among the era's most radical medical and surgical procedures. From buttered frog ointments to agonizing and dangerous surgeries, they raised abiding questions about the nature of disease and the proper role of the medical practitioner.

A definitive and approachable guide to life during, and after, breast cancer The biggest risk factor for breast cancer is simply being a woman. Madhulika Sikka's A Breast Cancer Alphabet offers a new way to live with and plan past the hardest diagnosis that most women will ever receive: a personal, practical, and deeply informative look at the road from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. What Madhulika Sikka didn't foresee when initially diagnosed, and what this book brings to life so vividly, are the unexpected and minute challenges that make navigating the world of breast cancer all the trickier. A Breast Cancer Alphabet is an inspired reaction to what started as a personal predicament. This A-Z guide to living with breast cancer goes where so many fear to tread: sex (S is for Sex - really?), sentimentality (J is for Journey - it's a cliché we need to dispense with), hair (H is for Hair - yes, you can make a federal case of it) and work (Q is for Quitting - there'll be days when you feel like it). She draws an easy-to-follow, and quite memorable, map of her travels from breast cancer neophyte to seasoned veteran. As a prominent news executive, Madhulika had access to the most cutting edge data on the disease's reach and impact. At the same time, she craved the community of frank talk and personal insight that we rely on in life's toughest moments. This wonderfully inventive book navigates the world of science and story, bringing readers into Madhulika's mind and experience in a way that demystifies breast cancer and offers new hope for those living with it.
