Rebecca, a beautiful Irish lass with swirls of red curls framing her small face and large captivating blue eyes, the color of the sea, has been found out. She has committed treason...treason against her father, against her home Connemara...and maybe even against all of Ireland. Her crime is falling in love with Jonathan, a man from America who along with his friend Pierce are considered to be British spies and murderers. With the help of her brother, Father Ryan McEagan, Rebecca must prove they are not British spies. In truth, they have been helping the IRB-Irish Republican Brothers-fight against the British Army. Rebecca and Jonathans lives are in constant danger, but once Jonathan makes plans to leave Ireland, Rebecca vows to remain by his side. With or without her fathers blessings she plans to sail with Jonathan to America, to this newly created state of New Mexico, riding the train straight up to the Cloudcroft Lodge, his place above the clouds where he and Rebecca will marry. But will it end in happily ever after or in doomed death and eternity of haunting shadows?

Have You Got Five Minutes written by Opal Belieu and has been published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-08-04 with Poetry categories.

I picked this title because I have been writing poetry since I was thirteen years old, and I figured it takes two minutes for someone to read the poem and three minutes to grasp the meaning of the poems and ponder its meaning. That is why my title is Have You Got Five Minutes. As we know, a lot can happen in five minutes. You can fall in love. You can fall down the stairs. You can fall off your rocker, or you can fall into insanity. But if you really think about it, almost anything in life can happen in just five minutes. So I hope you take five minutes to enjoy one or all of my poetry. I hope that it moves you in a way and defines you both spiritually and emotionally blessed. As I have been writing poetry for so long, sometimes my words slip away from me. Sometimes, my pen is quicker than my brain, and I go off on my tangents. I hope everyone enjoys reading this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

After fleeing homophobia and threats to her life in her native El Salvador, ‘Carla’ was detained for two years inside the Buffalo Federal Detention Center. Her letters provide a powerful and unique account of a queer woman’s experience inside America’s asylum system. Letters from Inside a U.S. Detention Center reconstructs Carla’s story from the correspondence between Carla and Jane Juffer, a professor at Cornell University, and from excerpts from the legal decisions made while she was being held in immigration detention. Contextualised with explanation and analysis of detention in the United States, the book examines how detention exacerbates the trauma many migrants experience and becomes another site of fear, intimidation, and uncertainty. Carla’s narrative is a powerful story, and one that illustrates grievous injustices in the U.S. immigration and asylum system. The book will be of immense value to immigration activists and scholars alike, especially in feminist studies, queer studies, and those studying the intersections of prisons and detention centres.

An astonishing and revelatory memoir by two women who escaped the glamorous yet deadly international drug trade. Mia Flores and Olivia Flores live under assumed names. To their neighbours, they are typical single mothers, their days filled with school runs and PTA meetings. But Olivia and Mia are anything but ordinary. They live in fear, hiding from a past that included wealth beyond their wildest dreams but also more danger than they ever could have imagined. Mia and Olivia are married to the highest level American drug traffickers ever to become US informants, Chicago-born twin brothers Margarito and Pedro Flores. These men worked with - and then brought down - dozens of high-level members of the Mexican cartels, most significantly notorious kingpin Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman. The brothers and their wives had everything money could buy - luxury cars, huge houses and expensive jewellery - but came to understand that the vast wealth that accompanied cartel life came with the ever-present threat of kidnapping, death or imprisonment. Choosing their families over money, they decided to give it all up and cooperate with the US government. Now, from behind the cloak of witness protection, Olivia and Mia have come forward for the first time to tell the full story of their family's decision to risk everything and seek redemption. Cartel Wives is a love story, an insider's look into a terrifying but high-flying modern-day drug empire and, finally, the story of a major federal government operation to bring down one of the most feared men in the world.
