Keep track of garden pests or diseases and remember which treatment worked. With an accurate diagram of where everything is planted, you won't need to worry about accidentally weeding out emerging perennials, and can start feeding each new plant right from the start. There is a section dedicated to logging all your maintenance tasks so nothing gets missed, including pest control, pruning, mulching and feeding, followed by charts to record your bounty at harvest, and pages to schedule clean-up at season's end and reminders fornext year. The weather record is handy for determining what effect the weather had on your results, and to track changes from year to year.
