In the music world, no matter what style of music you play, the same principles apply. A whole note is a whole note, whether you play country or jazz. I have found when it comes to finances, whether you are a Christian or not, the scriptures pertaining to finances will work for your home. I have written concerning the home's finances from a biblical viewpoint. From this perspective, you will get a different outlook on everything in life. The old saying, "you can't see the forest for the trees" is true. We need to rise above life's situations and get a Birdseye (heavenly) view. Not only do I lay out practical ways of handling household finances, but I also get to the heart of the matter. If nothing changes in your heart, then nothing changes. Whether it is our house, state, or our country, we need an attitude adjustment on how we deal with money. I encourage you to set aside any bias if you are not a Christian. Ask yourself if the way you handle your finances is working. If you are not one hundred percent satisfied with your results, this book will prove valuable for you. About the Author In 1982 Elaine and I were married and rented our first house. It was 720 square feet with 7 foot ceilings. We began our journey together, setting it in our hearts to become producers, not consumers. As a minister, at Mt. Zion in Clarkston Michigan since 1986, I began teaching people the same principles we discovered. These principles took us from renting the house to buying it and turning it into a 2200 square foot home with cathedral ceilings. We have never experienced a financial burden upon our lives. My thought is; if I can do this, anyone can. In 2011, after 29 years of marriage, we still live a financially stress free life.

Family business groups (FBGs) are ubiquitous, influential, and play a major role in national economies. While much of the current research around this topic has so far focused on emerging economies, more knowledge is needed on family business groups in developed economies; specifically, how they innovate, strategize, govern, and grow. Offering a comprehensive and global perspective on family business groups, this Handbook comprises international contributions from leading experts. Split into five sections, it covers strategy and business transformation; innovation strategies; management and governance; and new avenues for research on FBGs including the issues of sustainability and cultural alignment. An important resource for students and researchers of family business, strategy and management, this Handbook signals the emergence of the family business group phenomenon and solidifies research in this evolving area of study.

Why do successors decide to join the family business? The current study investigated the hitherto largely ignored perspective of the successor on succession as career decision process. Grounded on family business and career development theory, insights gained from the qualitative analysis of 16 in-depth interviews with successors were used to develop a successor profiling tool. It is composed of three main elements: the succession decision as process, influences of facilitating and inhibiting factors as well as underlying successor commitment over time. A gender sensitive perspective was adopted in order to account for gender differences during tool development. The tool developed offers a practical contribution by helping young family business members to consider succession in relation to their career development.

This book examines the relationship between work and family in small family business in Hong Kong, based on data obtained from in-depth interviews on married couples running small retail shops. It was found that despite the perceived advantage of flexibility, running a small family business did not necessarily result in a working pattern compatible with family needs. In studies on small family business, the contribution by the wives was often overlooked. This book pays special attention to the part played by women in the setting up and running of small family business. This book will be a useful reference for people interested in qualitative sociology, small business studies, family studies and women's studies.
