This is the biography and journey of a father leading his family out of the world's relative darkness, confusion, and misunderstanding caused by false teaching and into the realm of absolute daylight, certainty, hopefulness, and understanding by way of the undeniable truth. You will be guided through this father's life from early childhood, through adolescence, adulthood, and old age. You will learn of his extensive religious background, which will hopefully provide him with a certain amount of credibility because of what he decided to do with his life, the life of his family, and many of those who he came in contact with. You will be presented with four letters he has written to each of his three children informing them of the way they each need to change their lives in order to come out of the darkness of confusion and unbelief and into the light of certainty and true belief. You will see how each of these letters were accepted by them and the impact they had on his wife and each of his three children. Finally you will see what each member of his family is now doing with their lives and how each has changed from what they were then, before the letters, and what they are now, after the letters.

Kehl’s well-crafted guide is designed with one purpose in mind: To make sure you make the most out of your time in the armed forces. Sgt. My Rich Uncle includes an invaluable collection of knowledge, wisdom, and insight from numerous USAF leaders, all of which is geared toward helping fellow airmen find success in their careers by highlighting the cultural things we expect airmen to know, or at least figure out, but which are rarely taught. This book will help you successfully navigate an Air Force career by providing insight into the expectations and the steps for YOU to take in order to maximize your service time and set yourself up for success. It also highlights little known programs, like Air Force Lean and Continuous Process Improvement, that empower airmen to find root cause solutions and reduce time-wasting practices that do not further your career. Supporting the Military-Affiliated Learner: Communication Approaches to Military Pedagogy & Education challenges the academic community to 1) reevaluate how they support military-affiliated learners (MALs) and address how the military-civilian-academic divide causes disparities and barriers to MAL academic achievement and retention and 2) implement programs and develop strategies to facilitate equitable academic integration from application to graduation. With contributions from veterans, military spouses, and communication educators, the chapters explicate barriers that MALs face when trying to transition to, navigate, and succeed in higher education. This edited volume explores the impact of the diversity and nuances of MAL identities on their experiences in higher education; promotes military competence by providing opportunities for educators and support staff to learn about potential barriers and promote best practices for connecting with MALs and validating their lived experiences; examines how technology/computer-mediated communication may be used to facilitate community building and promote connectedness for MALs within face-to-face and digital spheres. This book is intended to be a resource guide for administrators, policymakers, and educators by providing tangible strategies, recommendations, and resources to promote the academic success of MALs navigating higher education.

This is a true story based on the collection of information from U.S. Army documents, my father, Sgt. Frederick Douglas Sr., Captain James Gill (Referred to as my uncle), and 6 other soldiers that were involved in the unauthorized mission to recover me from a Japanese black market baby ring. Army documents that my father had were also used to put together approximate timelines and fill in gaps of what might have happened during certain times where my father or uncle couldnt quite remember clearly. Some of the conversations in this story are assumptions of what might have been spoken as well as recollections from my father, uncle and a couple of men that were involved in my rescue. My father served 22 years in the U. S. Army with tours of duty in what are now Okinawa, Japan, Korea, and Viet Nam. My uncle served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and as fate would have it, he was stationed with my father in Okinawa at Naha and Kadena Air Base between the years of 1962-1967. My father had just completed a tour of duty in Korea (3/1961-1/1962) and was being furloughed to Okinawa for a couple of months off until his next tour. It was during January of 1962 when my uncle had just arrived from the United States and was assigned between Naha Air Base and Kadena Air Force Base in charge of air tactical recon and surveillance. Actual names are used in this story for the exception of the Colonel, which I changed his name due to my fathers oath of keeping him protected. What you are about to read is a fathers struggle and perseverance to find his son at all cost and risk, which was a mini-war in itself.
