In this book, for the first time we introduce the notions of N-groups, N-semigroups, N-loops and N-groupoids. We also define a mixed N-algebraic structure. The book is organized into six chapters. The first chapter gives the basic notions of S-semigroups, S-groupoids and S-loops thereby making the book self-contained. Chapter two introduces N-groups and their Smarandache analogues. In chapter three, N-loops and Smarandache N-loops are introduced and analyzed. Chapter four defines N-groupoids and S-N-groupoids. Since the N-semigroup structures are sandwiched between groups and groupoids, the study can be carried out without any difficulty. Mixed N-algebraic structures and S-mixed algebraic structures are given in chapter five. Some problems are suggested in chapter six. It is pertinent to mention that several exercises and problems (Some in the form of proof to the theorems are given in all the chapters.) A reader who attempts to solve them will certainly gain a sound knowledge about these concepts. We have given 50 problems for the reader to solve in chapter 6. The main aim of this book is to introduce new concepts and explain them with examples there by encouraging young mathematics to pursue research in this direction. Several theorems based on the definition can be easily proved with simple modification. Innovative readers can take up that job. Also these notions find their applications in automaton theory and coloring problems. The N-semigroups and N-automaton can be applied to construct finite machines, which can perform multitasks, so their capability would be much higher than the usual automaton of finite machines constructed. We have suggested a list of references for further reading.

The book addresses both theory and applications, which are illustrated with a wealth of ideas, proofs and examples to help readers understand the material and develop new mathematical methods and concepts of their own. The high-quality chapters share a wealth of new methods and results, review cutting-edge research and discuss open problems and directions for future research. Taken together, they offer a source of inspiration for a broad range of researchers and research students whose work involves algebraic structures and their applications, probability theory and mathematical statistics, applied mathematics, engineering mathematics and related areas.

The Latin-American conference on algebra, the XV Coloquio Latinoamericano de Algebra (Cocoyoc, Mexico), consisted of plenary sessions of general interest and special sessions on algebraic combinatorics, associative rings, cohomology of rings and algebras, commutative algebra, group representations, Hopf algebras, number theory, quantum groups, and representation theory of algebras. This proceedings volume contains original research papers related to talks at the colloquium. In addition, there are several surveys presenting important topics to a broad mathematical audience. There are also two invited papers by Raymundo Bautista and Roberto Martinez, founders of the Mexican school of representation theory of algebras. The book is suitable for graduate students and researchers interested in algebra.

The laws of composition include addition and multiplication of numbers or func tions. These are the basic operations of algebra. One can generalize these operations to groups where there is just one law. The theory of this book was started in 1800 by Gauss, when he solved the 2000 year-old Greek problem about constructing regular n-gons by ruler and compass. The theory was further developed by Abel and Galois. After years of development the theory was put in the present form by E. Noether and E. Artin in 1930. At that time it was called modern algebra and concentrated on the abstract exposition of the theory. Nowadays there are too many examples to go into their details. I think the student should study the proofs of the theorems and not spend time looking for solutions to tricky exercises. The exercises are designed to clarify the theory. In algebra there are four basic structures; groups, rings, fields and modules. We present the theory of these basic structures. Hopefully this will give a good introduc tion to modern algebra. I have assumed as background that the reader has learned linear algebra over the real numbers but this is not necessary.

This book for the first time introduces neutrosophic groups, neutrosophic semigroups, neutrosophic loops and neutrosophic groupoids and their neutrosophic N-structures.The special feature of this book is that it tries to analyze when the general neutrosophic algebraic structures like loops, semigroups and groupoids satisfy some of the classical theorems for finite groups viz. Lagrange, Sylow, and Cauchy. This is mainly carried out to know more about these neutrosophic algebraic structures and their neutrosophic N-algebraic structures.

This book contains recent and exciting developments on the structure of moduli spaces, with an emphasis on the algebraic structures that underlie this structure. Topics covered include Hilbert schemes of points, moduli of instantons, coherent sheaves and their derived categories, moduli of flat connections, Hodge structures, and the topology of affine varieties. Two beautiful series of lectures are a particularly fine feature of the book. One is an introductory series by Manfred Lehn on the topology and geometry of Hilbert schemes of points on surfaces, and the other, by Hiraku Nakajima and Kota Yoshioka, explains their recent work on the moduli space of instantons over ${\mathbb R 4$. The material is suitable for graduate students and researchers interested in moduli spaces in algebraic geometry, topology, and mathematical physics.

From Algebraic Structures To Tensors written by Gérard Favier and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-01-02 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Nowadays, tensors play a central role for the representation, mining, analysis, and fusion of multidimensional, multimodal, and heterogeneous big data in numerous fields. This set on Matrices and Tensors in Signal Processing aims at giving a self-contained and comprehensive presentation of various concepts and methods, starting from fundamental algebraic structures to advanced tensor-based applications, including recently developed tensor models and efficient algorithms for dimensionality reduction and parameter estimation. Although its title suggests an orientation towards signal processing, the results presented in this set will also be of use to readers interested in other disciplines. This first book provides an introduction to matrices and tensors of higher-order based on the structures of vector space and tensor space. Some standard algebraic structures are first described, with a focus on the hilbertian approach for signal representation, and function approximation based on Fourier series and orthogonal polynomial series. Matrices and hypermatrices associated with linear, bilinear and multilinear maps are more particularly studied. Some basic results are presented for block matrices. The notions of decomposition, rank, eigenvalue, singular value, and unfolding of a tensor are introduced, by emphasizing similarities and differences between matrices and tensors of higher-order.

This series presents some tools of applied mathematics in the areas of proba bility theory, operator calculus, representation theory, and special functions used currently, and we expect more and more in the future, for solving problems in math ematics, physics, and, now, computer science. Much of the material is scattered throughout available literature, however, we have nowhere found in accessible form all of this material collected. The presentation of the material is original with the authors. The presentation of probability theory in connection with group represen tations is new, this appears in Volume I. Then the applications to computer science in Volume II are original as well. The approach found in Volume III, which deals in large part with infinite-dimensional representations of Lie algebras/Lie groups, is new as well, being inspired by the desire to find a recursive method for calcu lating group representations. One idea behind this is the possibility of symbolic computation of the matrix elements. In this volume, Representations and Probability Theory, we present an intro duction to Lie algebras and Lie groups emphasizing the connections with operator calculus, which we interpret through representations, principally, the action of the Lie algebras on spaces of polynomials. The main features are the connection with probability theory via moment systems and the connection with the classical ele mentary distributions via representation theory. The various systems of polynomi als that arise are one of the most interesting aspects of this study.
