Mas o sentido completo da Literatura de Cordel acontece os versos chamados de , * OITAVA ou oito versos, pés ou oitavas-em-quadrão ( duas quadras com sete sílabas, originado a poesia mais conhecida e popular ou seja, o * QUADRÃO, onde os três primeiros versos rimam entre si ( quarto com oitavo, quinto,sexto e sétimo entre si ) sendo encerradas por verso pré-estabelecido. * Vamos deixar para o pessoal da Academia, estudar a DÉCIMA, tão a gosto na glosa dos motes, nas pelejas e no corpo de romances, em desdobramentos sem fim. Em alguns casos até o MARTELO heróico ou satírico chega até aos desafios, com nomes agalopado ou galope à beira-mar.
