Inhaltsangabe:Zusammenfassung: Viele Unternehmen sehen große Potenziale in der möglichen Entwicklung des interaktiven Fernsehens und hoffen, durch die neu geschaffenen technologischen Voraussetzungen am Erfolg teilzuhaben. Es besteht geradezu eine Euphorie unter den potenziellen Marktteilnehmern, da jedes Unternehmen der Ansicht ist, dass interaktives Fernsehen neue Kundengruppen erschließen kann und erfolgreiche Produkte verspricht. So auch Stefan Liebig, Senior Manager Network Development bei MTV: „Wir glauben, dass intelligent gemachtes interaktives Fernsehen den bestehenden TV-Markt weiterentwickeln und einen riesigen Markt eröffnen wird.“ Es ist aber eher unwahrscheinlich, dass der gesamte Markt vom interaktiven Fernsehen profitieren wird. Es werden sich einige Geschäftsfelder herausstellen, die durch individuelle Produkte und Dienstleistungen einen Mehrwert für Konsumenten schaffen und neue Zielgruppen erschließen können. Zentrales Element des interaktiven Fernsehens werden zweifelsohne die TV-Sender sein, die darüber entscheiden, in welcher Ausprägung Interaktivität Einzug in deutsche Fernsehformate hält und welche Produkte und Dienstleistungen eingesetzt werden. TV-Sender werden daher stark auf die Wertschöpfungskette wirken und beeinflussen, wie einzelne Marktteilnehmer profitieren können. Eine wichtige Rolle nehmen gegenwärtig auch die ‚Wireless Application Service Provider’ ein, die als Anbieter von mobilen Diensten die Fernsehformate erweitern und einen bezahlfähigen Rückkanal zur Verfügung stellen, mit dem kostenpflichtige Angebote ermöglicht werden und erstmals neben Gewinnspielen und Abstimmungen per Telefon, auch Anwendungen, wie beispielsweise das Einsenden von Grüßen oder Meinungen auf dem Fernsehbild für eine breite Zuschauergruppe ermöglicht wird und TV-Sendern Erlöse erzielen lässt. Das ist bis heute, aufgrund proprietärer Lösungen und wenig praktikablen Bezahlverfahren der Rückkanäle, für das interaktive Fernsehen nicht realisierbar. Daher stellt sich in diesem Zusammenhang den ‚Wireless Application Service Providern’ eine zentrale Frage: ‚Wie können sie in Zukunft vom Fernsehmarkt profitieren und welche Chancen und Risiken erschließt die weitere Entwicklung des interaktiven Fernsehens?’. Demzufolge besteht die Herausforderung des ‚Wireless Application Service Provider’ in der Erarbeitung einer Strategie, mit der das Unternehmen auf zukünftige Entwicklungen reagieren und agieren kann und sich dadurch eine Marktposition [...]
