In the real world, uncertainty or vagueness is prevalent in engineering and management computations. Commonly, such uncertainties are included in the design process by introducing simplified hypothesis and safety or design factors.

In this paper, a multi-objective non-linear neutrosophic optimization (NSO) approach for optimizing the design of plane truss structure with multiple objectives subject to a specified set of constraints has been developed. In this optimum design formulation, the objective functions are the weight of the truss and the deflection of loaded joint; the design variables are the cross-sections of the truss members; the constraints are the stresses in member.

This paper develops a multi-objective Neutrosophic Goal Optimization technique for optimizing the design of truss structure with multiple objectives subject to a specified set of constraints. In this optimum design formulation, the objective functions are weight and the deflection; the design variables are the cross-sections of the bar; the constraints are the stress in member. The classical three bar truss structure is presented here in to demonstrate the efficiency of the neutrosophic goal programming approach. The model is numerically illustrated by Neutrosophic Goal Optimization technique with different aggregation method. The result shows that the Neutrosophic Goal Optimization technique is very efficient in finding the best optimal solutions.

The neutrosophic sets are the prevailing frameworks that not only generalize the concept of fuzzy sets, but also analyse the connectivity of neutralities with different ideational spectra. In this article, we define a special type of neutrosophic set, named four-valued refined neutrosophic set (FVRNO), based on which various set-theoretic operators and properties of four-valued refined neutrosophic sets are studied. Often in many optimization problems of the real world, only the partial information about the values of parameters is available. In such situations, where impreciseness is involved in the information, classical techniques do not exhibit an appropriate optimal solution. A new concept to handle imprecise information is introduced and computational algorithm is formulated in four-valued refined neutrosophic environment. The new concept of optimization problem is an extension of intuitionistic fuzzy optimization as well as single-valued neutrosophic optimization.

Neutrosophic Number Optimization Models And Their Application In The Practical Production Process written by Angyan Tu and has been published by Infinite Study this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Mathematics categories.

In order to simplify the complex calculation and solve the difficult solution problems of neutrosophic number optimization models (NNOMs) in the practical production process, this paper presents two methods to solve NNOMs, where Matlab built-in function “fmincon()” and neutrosophic number operations (NNOs) are used in indeterminate environments. Next, the two methods are applied to linear and nonlinear programming problems with neutrosophic number information to obtain the optimal solution of the maximum/minimum objective function under the constrained conditions of practical productions by neutrosophic number optimization programming (NNOP) examples. Finally, under indeterminate environments, the fit optimal solutions of the examples can also be achieved by using some specified indeterminate scales to fulfill some specified actual requirements. The NNOP methods can obtain the feasible and flexible optimal solutions and indicate the advantage of simple calculations in practical applications.

Sustainability Assessment Of Concrete Bridge Deck Designs In Coastal Environments Using Neutrosophic Criteria Weights written by Ignacio J. Essential infrastructures such as bridges are designed to provide a long-lasting and intergenerational functionality. In those cases, sustainability becomes of paramount importance when the infrastructure is exposed to aggressive environments, which can jeopardise their durability and lead to significant maintenance demands. The assessment of sustainability is however often complex and uncertain. The present study assesses the sustainability performance of 16 alternative designs of a concrete bridge deck in a coastal environment on the basis of a neutrosophic group analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The use of neutrosophic logic in the field of multi-criteria decision-making, as a generalisation of the widely used fuzzy logic, allows for a proper capture of the vagueness and uncertainties of the judgements emitted by the decision-makers. TOPSIS technique is then used to aggregate the different sustainability criteria. From the results, it is derived that only the simultaneous consideration of the economic, environmental and social life cycle impacts of a design shall lead to adequate sustainable designs. Choices made based on the optimality of a design in only some of the sustainability pillars will lead to erroneous conclusions. The use of concrete with silica fume has resulted in a sustainability performance of 46.3% better than conventional concrete designs.
