This book brings to fruition the research done during the CEA-ISCTE project ‘’Monitoring Conflicts in the Horn of Africa’’, reference PTDC/AFR/100460/2008. The Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) provided funding for this project. This book illustrates how Africa’s defence and security domains have been radically altered by drastic changes in world politics and local ramifications. Like other organizations across the world, military establishments apply the concept of entrepreneurship to day-to-day activities.
