Well, these resources for adventures in service to God for the church are valuable assets to those seeking a dynamic experience in Gods Kingdom work. To invest yourself in Larry Spencers Ministry of Helps Manual and Workbook can enhance your ministry and greatly format your service with usable hands on tools that complete your tool chest. Bring these practical things home and put them to work. Great results have already been seen from individuals who respect Gods Word and value what it can bring to the Board room as well as to the church service. You will not be sorry you invested in this training for you and your ministry team. Rev. Lloyd Tremain, Paradise Community Church of the Nazarene A thorough, practical and much needed Biblically sound treatment. Wish it had been available 20 years ago when I could have use it to a great positive effect Dan Wilderman, Retired Assemblies of God Pastor the order and practical instruction presented will benefit all organizational levels of any Christian Church today. John Steffensen, Radio Host, Christ Today KKXX Radio Chico CA Hopefully this manual will lay the groundwork for pastors and churches to spread the burden and get others involved in the work of the ministry. I once had a pastor that was often unprepared for a service because he was busy helping a parishioner with some needed chore, or church maintenance, or the myriad other duties needed to keep a church going. The result was that the church stayed the same size. Some leave; others enter. But no growth was apparent despite the considerable preaching talents of the pastor. God is apparently making sure he has only the amount of people that he can handle. We learn that the ancient church had some of the same challenges we face today. Acts 6:14 says, Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. (Read this as doing manual labor.) Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; (the manual labor) but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word. It was even bringing strife to the local body. What did they do? And what was the result? The first thing the apostles did was pick out people they knew to be wise and that had had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and appointed them to do practical ministerial duties (the manual labor). This freed up the apostles so they could minister the Word of God. Wow, Gods way is so simple, and our grandiose plans just waste time and get nothing done. Pastors need to learn from the apostles and appoint over this business so the pastors has more time to do the spiritual work that promotes Gods church. This manual gives a road map for accomplishing the goal of choosing and training people and tips for managing them.

From one point of view, salvation is very simple. It can be summed up in Paul's words to the Philippian jailer: Acts 16:31; "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." At the same time, salvation is profound; it has the most pervasive and permanent impact possible on the one who experiences it. We do not, of course, have to understand all aspects of salvation before we can receive it. We may understand very little when we first trust Christ. There are some things we will not understand until we see the LORD face to face. But studying GOD's Word and trying to understand more fully the truth of our salvation greatly enriches us spiritually. The way of salvation began with atonement of Christ on the cross. The word "atonement" means reconcile a difference or being together two who have been separated. When most people think of salvation, they consider it only in terms of redemption from sin or rescue from hell. However, a careful study of salvation from a Biblical perspective will reveal that it involves different stages:1.Regeneration2.Justification3.Sanctification4.GlorificationREGENRATION: The first stage of salvation is instantaneous and is also called "conversion." It occurs immediately upon receiving Christ as our Savior. Two elements are involved in regeneration. (Read Luke 13:3 & Acts 3:19). The word repent is a translation of the Greek word which mean "a change of mind, heart and attitude." It is a change of mind with respect to sin and brings a change in lifestyle. It's an inward experience which manifests itself in an outward change in one's behavior. In repentance, from hating or just ignoring GOD to loving Him and turning one's life completely over to Him. True repentance is always accompanied by the second element of regeneration: Faith. Faith, which is always involved in repentance, is more than intellectual belief, demons believe intellectually: James 2:19; "You believe that there is one GOD. You do well. Even the demons believe, and tremble!" In the New Testament, faith means a firm persuasion, a conviction based upon hearing. It is believing something to the extent that it changes your life. The kind of faith that accompanies salvation is not in a book, or a church, or a by-law; but in Jesus Christ: Acts 20:21; "Testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward GOD and faith toward our LORD Jesus Christ." Repentance must be toward the LORD Jesus Christ because He is the one who died for our sins. Remember; "Repentance is deliberate, willful, turning away from sin and following after GOD. True repentance always leads to a change in conduct or attitude."The purpose of GOD in salvation is to redeem man from his depraved state which is the result of sin. The first part of this purpose is accomplished in the instantaneous portion of salvation (regeneration).JUSTIFICATION: Justification has often been defined as meaning, "Just as if I'd never sinned." This aspect involves acquittal, but justification goes further by declaring a person to be righteous. When GOD justifies us, He does not merely forgive our sins, He sees us in Christ as having his perfect righteousness. Justification has to do with our standing before GOD and is objective. It does not make one personally righteous, but it declares him righteous in a legal sense, and brings him into right relationship with GOD. Paul stresses that we cannot be justified by the works of the Law, for "no one will be declared righteous in GOD's sight by observing the Law; rather, through the Law we become conscious of sin" Romans 3:20. Rather, we are "justified freely by GOD's grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:24).The fact that we have been justified becomes clear through the evidence of our changed lives, marked by obedience to GOD and desire to do His will.

In Ephesians 4:7-11, Jesus gave five specific spiritual gifts for the equipping and building up of the church to display his fullness in the world, yet only two are primarily used today- pastors and teachers. It's fair to say that this is an insufficient representation of Christ. What would the potential be of the missing sixty percent- apostles, prophets and evangelists- being activated as well? Could it be that every believer has latent potential in these five areas? Following Jesus' model of learning by doing- not passive information transfer- this practical training manual in the five fold ministry of Christ will be energizing. It will infuse new life into your Christianity as the pulse of Christ pumps through your spiritual veins. These practical exercises will stimulate atrophying muscles to spiritual growth. More importantly, it will glolrify Jesus as his whole body is activated. In this fivefold training manual, you will find twenty-five practical exercises in five areas, such as: - How to start a new ministry and multiply it - (apostle) - How to form an encouraging, strengthening or comforting word - (prophet) - How to start spiritual conversations (hint: It's not what you think) - (evangelist) - How to create an atmosphere of community and care - (shepherd) - How to read and dissect the Bible yourself and teach others - (teacher) These exercises are designed to be simple, reproducible, and cross-cultural for any Christian who wants to go deeper. They can be used to equip individuals, youth groups, adult small groups, missions teams, whole churches or in ministry schools. Discover for yourself the powerful fivefold ministry prototype Jesus designed for the church, and be amazed as he reveals to you your part.

Commitment to the Almighty God is the highest priority for the Christian and it cannot be taken lightly because of its eternal implications. There should be assurance of salvation that is Bible based, which lasts forever. There is a need for an extra spiritual effort on the souls saved to get them established, localised in a church fellowship and mobilised until they too become soul winners. It is not enough for the believer in Christ to go forth and bear fruits in obedience to the Lord's command but must also ensure that the fruits abide. This is why the Workers-in-Training programme is packaged to equip believers for service unto God and the edification of the body of Christ. Our prayer is that at the end of these teachings, you would have become a true Christian, on fire for God and ready to take up mountains. God bless you as you get empowered for the work of ministry, in Jesus name. Amen
