Labstudio written by Jenny Sabin and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-28 with Architecture categories.
LabStudio: Design Research between Architecture and Biology introduces the concept of the research design laboratory in which funded research and trans-disciplinary participants achieve radical advances in science, design, and applied architectural practice. The book demonstrates to natural scientists and architects alike new approaches to more traditional design studio and hypothesis-led research that are complementary, iterative, experimental, and reciprocal. These originate from 3-D spatial biology and generative design in architecture, creating philosophies and practices that are high-risk, non-linear, and design-driven for often surprising results. Authors Jenny E. Sabin, an architectural designer, and Peter Lloyd Jones, a spatial biologist, present case studies, prototypes, and exercises from their practice, LabStudio, illustrating in hundreds of color images a new model for seemingly unrelated, open-ended, data-, systems- and technology-driven methods that you can adopt for incredible results.

Chaos And Complexity Theory For Management Nonlinear Dynamics written by Banerjee, Santo and has been published by IGI Global this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11-30 with Business & Economics categories.
Although chaos theory refers to the existence between seemingly random events, it has been gaining the attention of science, technology and managements fields. The shift from traditional procedures to the dynamics of chaos and complexity theory has resulted in a new element of complexity thinking, allowing for a greater capability for analyzing and understanding key business processes. Chaos and Complexity Theory for Management: Nonlinear Dynamics explores chaos and complexity theory and its relationship with the understanding of natural chaos in the business environment. Utilizing these theories aids in comprehending the development of businesses as a complex adaptive system.

Nonlinear Dynamics Perspective Of Wolfram S New Kind Of Science A Volume Iii written by Leon O Chua and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-08-11 with Computers categories.
Volume III continues the author's quest for developing a pedagogical, self-contained, yet rigorous analytical theory of 1-D cellular automata via a nonlinear dynamics perspective. Using carefully conceived and illuminating color graphics, the global dynamical behaviors of the 50 (out of 256) local rules that have not yet been covered in Volumes I and II are exposed via their stunningly revealing basin tree diagrams. The Bernoulli στ-shift dynamics discovered in Volume II is generalized to hold for all 50 (or 18 globally equivalent) local rules via complex and hyper Bernoulli wave dynamics. Explicit global state transition formulas derived for rules 60, 90, 105, and 150 reveal a new scale-free phenomenon. The most surprising new result unveiled in this volume is the “Isle of Eden” found hidden in most (almost 90%) of the 256 local rules. Readers are challenged to hunt for long-period, isolated Isles of Eden. These are rare gems waiting to be discovered.

This novel book introduces cellular automata from a rigorous nonlinear dynamics perspective. It supplies the missing link between nonlinear differential and difference equations to discrete symbolic analysis. A surprisingly useful interpretations of cellular automata in terms of neural networks is also given. The book provides a scientifically sound and original analysis, and classifications of the empirical results presented in Wolfram's monumental ';New Kind of Science.';

Nonlinear Dynamics Chaotic And Complex Systems written by Eryk Infeld and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997-06-19 with Mathematics categories.
The physics and mathematics of nonlinear dynamics, chaotic and complex systems constitute some of the most fascinating developments of late twentieth century science. It turns out that chaotic bahaviour can be understood, and even utilized, to a far greater degree than had been suspected. Surprisingly, universal constants have been discovered. The implications have changed our understanding of important phenomena in physics, biology, chemistry, economics, medicine and numerous other fields of human endeavor. In this book, two dozen scientists and mathematicians who were deeply involved in the "nonlinear revolution" cover most of the basic aspects of the field.

Over the past ten years, the Davis Conference on Qualitative Research has become the world’s leading conference for qualitative researchers in organizational studies. The authors of the "Best Presentation Awards" at the Davis Conference from the past four years have contributed chapters to this volume. These papers cover topics ranging from organizational name changes and organizational afterlife, to the use of written letters to build relationships and the use of a “creative foil” to improve one’s leadership image. Yet all of these papers are similar in that they benefited from the community of over 100 scholars developed through the Davis Conference, and represent qualitative research at its very best.

The Economics Of Complex Spatial Systems written by A. Reggiani and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998-05-05 with Social Science categories.
This book argues that complexity theory offers new departures for (spatial-) economic modelling. It offers a broad overview of recent advances in non-linear dynamics (catastrophe theory, chaos theory, evolutionary theory and so forth) and illustrates the relevance of this new paradigm on the basis of several illustrations in the area of space-economy. The empirical limitations - inherent in the use of non-linear dynamic systems approaches - are also addressed. Next, the application potential of biocomputing (in particular, neural networks and evolutionary algorithms) is stressed, while various empirical model results are presented. The book concludes with an agenda for further research.

Psychoanalytic Complexity written by William J. Coburn and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-03 with Psychology categories.
Psychoanalytic Complexity is the application of a multidisciplinary, explanatory theory to clinical psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. It carries with it incisive and pivotal attitudes that aim to transform our understanding of therapeutic action and the change process. Here, William Coburn offers a revolutionary and far-reaching counterpoint to the remnants of Cartesianism and scientism, respecting and encouraging human anomaly rather than pathologizing or obliterating the uniqueness of the individual person. In Psychoanaltyic Complexity, William Coburn explores the value of complexity theory previously understood as an explanatory framework with which clinicians can better understand, retrospectively, therapeutic action and the change process. He further extends this sensibility by examining the ways in which such a rich theoretical framework can inform what clinicians can do, prospectively, to effect positive change within the therapeutic relationship. He persuasively argues that the medium of bringing to light new ways of relating, emotional experiencing, and meaning making resides in the fundamental attitudes derived from a complexity theory sensibility as applied to psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. Using a variety of clinical illustrations throughout, Psychoanalytic Complexity is a radical corrective to reductionism and the more traditional presumption that the problem lies with the patient and the cure lies with the therapist. It offers a new language, vocabulary, way of thinking, and a new way of being with others that are pivotal in arriving at affirmative therapeutic change. This book is intended for psychoanalysts, clinical psychologists, therapists, mental health counsellors, academics and teachers who are interested in new trends in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.
