Handbook Of Mathematical Models And Algorithms In Computer Vision And Imaging written by Ke Chen and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-02-24 with Mathematics categories.
This handbook gathers together the state of the art on mathematical models and algorithms for imaging and vision. Its emphasis lies on rigorous mathematical methods, which represent the optimal solutions to a class of imaging and vision problems, and on effective algorithms, which are necessary for the methods to be translated to practical use in various applications. Viewing discrete images as data sampled from functional surfaces enables the use of advanced tools from calculus, functions and calculus of variations, and nonlinear optimization, and provides the basis of high-resolution imaging through geometry and variational models. Besides, optimization naturally connects traditional model-driven approaches to the emerging data-driven approaches of machine and deep learning. No other framework can provide comparable accuracy and precision to imaging and vision. Written by leading researchers in imaging and vision, the chapters in this handbook all start with gentle introductions, which make this work accessible to graduate students. For newcomers to the field, the book provides a comprehensive and fast-track introduction to the content, to save time and get on with tackling new and emerging challenges. For researchers, exposure to the state of the art of research works leads to an overall view of the entire field so as to guide new research directions and avoid pitfalls in moving the field forward and looking into the next decades of imaging and information services. This work can greatly benefit graduate students, researchers, and practitioners in imaging and vision; applied mathematicians; medical imagers; engineers; and computer scientists.

Traditional models struggle to cope with complexity, noise, and the existence of a changing environment, while Computational Intelligence (CI) offers solutions to complicated problems as well as reverse problems. The main feature of CI is adaptability, spanning the fields of machine learning and computational neuroscience. CI also comprises biologically-inspired technologies such as the intellect of swarm as part of evolutionary computation and encompassing wider areas such as image processing, data collection, and natural language processing. This book aims to discuss the usage of CI for optimal solving of various applications proving its wide reach and relevance. Bounding of optimization methods and data mining strategies make a strong and reliable prediction tool for handling real-life applications.

Interactive Shape Design written by Marie-Paule Cani and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-05-31 with Mathematics categories.
Providing an intuitive modeling system, which would enable us to communicate about any free-form shape we have in mind at least as quickly as with real-world tools, is one of the main challenges of digital shape design. The user should ideally be able to create, deform, and progressively add details to a shape, without being aware of the underlying mathematical representation nor being tied by any constraint on the geometrical or topological nature of the model. This book presents the field of interactive shape design from this perspective. Since interactively creating a shape builds on the humans ability of modeling by gesture, we note that the recent advances in interactive shape design can be classified as those that rely on sculpting as opposed to sketching metaphors. Our synthetic presentation of these strategies enables us to compare the different families of solutions, discuss open issues, and identify directions for future research. Table of Contents: Introduction / Sculpting Metaphors / Sketching Systems / Future Directions: Modeling by Gesture

Longitudinal Models In The Behavioral And Related Sciences written by Kees van Montfort and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-29 with Education categories.
This volume reviews longitudinal models and analysis procedures for use in the behavioral and social sciences. Written by distinguished experts in the field, the book presents the most current approaches and theories, and the technical problems that may be encountered along the way. Readers will find new ideas about the use of longitudinal analysis in solving problems that arise due to the specific nature of the research design and the data available. Longitudinal Models in the Behavioral and Related Sciences opens with the latest theoretical developments. In particular, the book addresses situations that arise due to the categorical nature of the data, issues related to state space modeling, and potential problems that may arise from network analysis and/or growth-curve data. The focus of part two is on the application of longitudinal modeling in a variety of disciplines. The book features applications such as heterogeneity on the patterns of a firm’s profit, on house prices, and on delinquent behavior; non-linearity in growth in assessing cognitive aging; measurement error issues in longitudinal research; and distance association for the analysis of change. Part two clearly demonstrates the caution that should be taken when applying longitudinal modeling as well as in the interpretation of the results. This new volume is ideal for advanced students and researchers in psychology, sociology, education, economics, management, medicine, and neuroscience.

amount of new knowledge every day. We have to acknowledge that even the smartest people among us are incapable of familiarizing himself with all these new data. Fortunately, we are only required to deal with a very small amount of that vast number in our work and life. As those who devote himself to the field of information technology and management engineering, I sincerely believe that it is our responsibility to make efforts to accelerate the advance of science in such fields. The 2014 international Conference on Information Technology and Management Engineering, thanks to the hard work of its committee, will be held on April 26 and 27 in Hong Kong. The ITME2014 covers a wide range of topics such as network protocols, information theory and coding theory, network security, management theory, project management, public management, knowledge management etc. It is a great honor to us that numerous people from various countries, including many famous experts and excellent researchers, have shown their interest in this convention and submitted their latest studies to us as their support. Among these studies, we have selected about a hundred to be finally included in this proceeding after reviewing and discussing. We believe that this collection of work will be of great value not only to the participants of ITME2014, but also to those who has a chance of meeting it. The publication of this conference proceedings and the successful opening of ITME2014 owe its credit to a lot of people and institutions, especially the ITME2014 committee, the editors and DEStech Publications. The committee has devoted much time to reviewing the papers submitted to ITME2014, and DEStech Publications publishing those accepted papers. I would like to thank the committee and the press deeply here for their support to ITME2014 and I am eagerly looking forward to another chance for us to be a team again. Finally, let’s wish together that the 2014 International Conference on Information Technology
