In smart cities, information and communication technologies are integrated to exchange real-time data between citizens, governments, and organizations. Blockchain provides security for communication and transactions between multiple stakeholders. Digital twin refers to a simulation of physical products in a virtual space. This simulation fully utilizes the physical models, wireless sensor networks, and historical data of city operation to integrate big information (digital twin cities) under multidiscipline, multiphysical quantities, multiscale, and multiprobability.Digital Twin, Blockchain, and Sensor Networks in the Healthy and Mobile City explores how digital twins and blockchain can be used in smart cities. Part 1 deals with their promising applications for healthy cities. Part 2 covers other promising applications and current perspectives of blockchain and digital twins for future smart society and smart city mobility. Together with its companion volume, Digital Twin and Blockchain for Sensor Networks in Smart Cities, this book helps to understand the vast amount of data around the city to encourage happy, healthy, safe, and productive lives.• Describes the fundamentals of blockchain and digital twin• Explores how blockchain and digital twin work with smart sensor networks • Discusses how future technologies can benefit the healthcare of everyday lives • Explains how intelligent sensor networks can be used in a healthy and mobile city

Monitoring Environmental Contaminants written by Steven Johnson and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-26 with Technology & Engineering categories.

While existing approaches to monitoring environmental contaminants tend to focus on a small suite of contaminant types and often involve monitoring at fixed points and at fixed times, Monitoring Environmental Contaminants focuses on a wide range of new technologies and approaches available for monitoring chemical and biological contaminants in air, water, soil and food. These new methods allow the ability to monitor a wider range of contaminants at much greater and temporal resolutions. Adoption of these methods could result in a change in our understanding of how humans and ecosystems are exposed to contaminants in different environmental media. This volume in the Environmental Contaminants Series provides an overview of a wide range of monitoring approaches ranging from citizen science networks to the use of robotics and sensor networks. Monitoring Environmental Contaminants describes challenges in the adoption of some of these new approaches and methods for dealing with these challenges such as the use of mining techniques for large data. The case studies within will provide a thorough illustration for researchers, academics, and scientists involved in ecology and environmental sciences. - Brings together chapters from a wide range of research in ecology and the environmental sciences - Utilizes an easily understandable style that can be absorbed by a wide audience - Uses case studies to illuminate the application of selected novel contamination monitoring approaches

Real World Wireless Sensor Networks written by Koen Langendoen and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This edited book presents the results of the 5th Workshop on Real-world Wireless Sensor Networks (REALWSN). The purpose of this workshop was to bring together researchers and practitioners working in the area of sensor networks, with focus on real-world experiments or deployments of wireless sensor networks. Included were, nonetheless, emerging forms of sensing such as those that leverage smart phones, Internet of Things, RFIDs, and robots. Indeed, when working with real-world experiments or deployments, many new or unforeseen issues may arise: the network environment may be composed of a variety of different technologies, leading to very heterogeneous network structures; software development for large scale networks poses new types of problems; the performance of prototype networks may differ significantly from the deployed system; whereas actual sensor network deployments may need a complex combination of autonomous and manual configuration. Furthermore, results obtained through simulation are typically not directly applicable to operational networks; it is therefore imperative for the community to produce results from experimental research. The workshop collected the state of the art in emerging and current research trends dealing with Real-world Wireless Sensor Networks, with the aim of representing a stepping stone for future research in this field.
