Queste pagine raccontano un percorso di formazione, punteggiato da innovazioni, sulla continuità educativa fra nido e scuola d’infanzia. Quest’esperienza, voluta dal Comune di Prato nella prospettiva di creare dei Centri ZeroSei, ha inizio nell’anno scolastico 2016/2017 e termina nel 2020; anni di interventi formativi a più livelli (riunioni plenarie, riunioni di plessi ZeroSei, riunioni fra coordinamento pedagogico e formatori) al fine di creare una cultura d’infanzia condivisa con l’impegno del personale educativo e docente per la definizione di un curricolo dai primi mesi ai sei anni di età. Il volume offre delle riflessioni di cornice che introducono alla narrazione, anno dopo anno, del cammino che gruppi educativi e docenti coinvolti hanno effettuato confrontandosi sull’immagine di bambino, sulle reciproche aspettative, sullo stile educativo, sui contesti predisposti per bambini e sulle attività educative offerte. Al lettore viene restituito quindi il percorso di progressiva integrazione fra educatrici di nido e docenti di scuola di infanzia che, anno dopo anno, hanno messo in comune esperienze e saperi producendo via via protocolli e documenti che le hanno avvicinate definendo meglio il proprio servizio in prospettiva e in coerenza con l’altro. Si è pertanto andati a a prefigurare un percorso formativo unitario ma non indifferenziato dal nido alla scuola d’infanzia: un curricolo all’insegna della continuità, costruita a Prato incontro dopo incontro.

La scuola dell’infanzia è un vero ‘gioiello di famiglia’ del sistema educativo italiano. Il libro presenta saggi di inquadramento, ipotesi di lavoro sui campi di esperienza e, soprattutto, un repertorio di trenta parole-chiave commentate, che rappresentano il lessico di base che accomuna e arricchisce la professionalità di educatori e insegnanti. Il volume è stato scritto da 36 autori (dirigenti scolastici, ispettori, docenti universitari, pedagogisti e soprattutto docenti) che rappresentano la ‘voce viva’ della scuola dell’infanzia italiana. Il coordinamento dell’opera è stato curato da Giancarlo Cerini (direttore della “Rivista dell’istruzione” e coordinatore di “Scuola7.it), da Cinzia Mion (formatrice, psicologa, del Forum veneto delle associazioni professionali della scuola) e da Giovanna Zunino (già insegnante di scuola dell’infanzia e membro dei comitati scientifici di Proteo Fare Sapere e ZeroseiUp).
