Born in a small town in Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Lake Linden, Margaret Mayotte-Hirn grew up experiencing her life to the fullest. Today, she can look back and remember and be glad she experienced all those things that made her who she is today. She worked full-time in hospitals for 48 years and began writing when she was in her 60s. She raised three children, got a divorce, remarried, and enjoyed three new children in her life. She also gardened, raised Arabian horses and showed them, played softball since she was 26, and volunteered in her spare time. It didnt leave much time for serious writing, but the desire was there. Leaving full-time hospital work did give her more time to do more. She volunteered and was selected Volunteer of the Year for 2 different organizations. She traveled states-wide to play softball in tournaments. She was an advocate for senior action and exercise. At age 70, she underwent bilateral knee replacements which slowed her down for a little while. Determined to return to former activity, she dove into therapy. Within 6 months, she regained all her mobility and resumed all her activities. During her sloweddown time, she thought about publishing the 2 books she had written in past years. With that taking place, who knows maybe her next passion will be writing. Inquisitive, daring thoughtful, caring and looks at life in a simple straight-forward way and addresses its challenges. These attributes are refl ected in her writing.

The Night Shift written by Dr. Brian Goldman and has been published by HarperCollins Canada this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-11-29 with Health & Fitness categories.

In The Night Shift, Dr. Brian Goldman shares his experiences in the witching hours at Mount Sinai Hospital in downtown Toronto. We meet the kinds of patients who walk into an E.R. after midnight: late-night revellers injured on their way home after last call, teens assaulted in the streets by other teens and a woman who punches another woman out of jealousy over a man. But Goldman also reveals the emotional, heartbreaking side of everyday E.R. visits: adult children forced to make life and death decisions about critically ill parents, victims of sexual assault, and mentally ill and homeless patients looking for understanding and a quick fix in the twenty-four-hour waiting room. Written with Goldman’s trademark honesty and with surprising humour, The Night Shift is also a frank look at many issues facing the medical profession today, and it offers a highly compelling inside view into an often shrouded world.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 I am a fifty-something emergency doctor who has been working nights for more than twenty-five years. I get butterflies before starting work, and I’m not afraid of telling the truth. I pray that my patients don’t come too late or early, and that I don’t screw up. #2 As an ER physician, my first duty is to my patients. I must keep them alive until I or someone else can figure out what’s wrong with them. If they want to kill themselves, I must try and stop them. #3 The emergency room is a noisy place, with mechanical alarms constantly going off. It is also a constant battle to maintain a steady pace in the ER, as patients constantly want to talk to you and interrupt you. #4 The ER at Mount Sinai is not the glamorous or endlessly exciting trauma-filled world TV shows make it out to be. It is a place where doctors treat patients who have heart attack, pneumonia, ulcers, and diabetes.

A Night In The Life written by Steven L Orebaugh, MD and has been published by Pocol Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-09-27 with categories.

Dr. Gary Phillips, an inveterate and increasingly disenchanted emergency physician, reports for a busy night shift in the ER at a community hospital in Pittsburgh. On this frenetic evening, he attends many ill patients, encountering in each of them some facet of the Southside neighborhood and its once-promising, industrial past...or its current economic decline. Gritty, authentic, and hauntingly realistic, A Night in the Life is based on the author's own experiences in a small, urban emergency department.
