In writing this book, I was mindful of the many areas of conflict that exist between Christian and Christian, Christian and Jew, Christian and Jehovah Witness, Members of The Church of Latter Day Saints and others. The purpose was to examine critically, some of the main areas of conflict, and measure them against what the bible has to say concerning the Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and to arrive at a reasonable, honest and dispassionate conclusion. One very clear and positive way was to show that Jesus, that great and unusual man of history, was indeed a man from heaven and is in fact God incarnate. Even those who have not accepted Jesus as God or equal with God, must admit that he was like no other. He was born in a lowly stable and died a convicted felon. Yet the world in short order turned to him. Even the mighty Roman Empire which initially haunted and crucified, hanged and hounded Christians, eventually turned to Him and acknowledged Him. The evidence, then, is that Jesus is someone special. The Jewish ruler Nichodemus acknowledged he was from God. It follows, therefore, that if Jesus was from God, then it is reasonable to accept that he was a person of truth and integrity. Yet Jesus said he was God. God seems to have been well pleased with Jesus. Is it not reasonable, therefore, to accept Jesus at His word? Commonsense and logic answers a resounding Yes!

Justification Reconsidered written by Stephen Westerholm and has been published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-14 with Religion categories.

Much has been written of late about what the apostle Paul really meant when he spoke of justification by faith, not the works of the law. This short study by Stephen Westerholm carefully examines proposals on the subject by Krister Stendahl, E. P. Sanders, Heikki Raisanen, N. T. Wright, James D. G. Dunn, and Douglas A. Campbell. In doing so, Westerholm notes weaknesses in traditional understandings that have provoked the more recent proposals, but he also points out areas in which the latter fail to do justice to the apostle. Readers of this book will gain not only a better grasp of the ongoing theological debate about justification but also a more nuanced overall understanding of Paul.

Excerpt from The Doctrine of the Incarnation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in Its Relation to Mankind and to the Church The Personal Oneness of Godhead and Manhood in Christ, not less essential to 11 is office than the reality of each nature. The reality of Christ's two natures assailed in the fifth Century - His Godhead by the Nestorians - His Manhood by the Eutychians. Councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon. Error of Nestorius to deny that the Son Of Mary was truly God. By denying the distinction between nature and personality, lie excluded the possibility of an union between God and man. This union practically testified by the Holy Communion. The Hypostatical union, the real presence in one person of two distinct natures, Godhead and Manhood. The Personality of Christ lies in the former. But an intimate connexion obtains between His two natures. From which connexion comes the ennobling of humanity. Effect which one nature produced upon the other. The exaltation which Christ bestowed upon man's nature, as God, by His Incarnation, distinct from that which, as man, He procured for it by His Obedience. The exaltation of Manhood in the Incarnation limited only by the conditions of the Created nature. To omit this limitation, as done by Eutyches, entails the very same result, which was arrived at by Nestorius - the denial of a true union between God and man. For lie could not be the representative of man, if Manhood was swallowed up in Godhead. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
