This book delivers another critical tool for connecting with decision-makers to make more and bigger sales. The book offers a new sales approach: stop selling and start helping customers win, win bigger, and win more often. Customers only care about one thing: value. And the only proven way to increase sales productivity is to deliver new and different forms of value. Salespeople must become experts in their customers' businesses and help them generate better results. Readers will learn that evolving from "salespeople" to "businesspeople who sell" will earn them a seat at the table -- the place reserved for those select people who guide the strategic direction of an enterprise. The book gives practical advice on how to better connect with executives and decision makers. When they can do this, salespeople will be in a position to create demand for their products and services, protect their core business, and close more sales.

But honest and open conversations are not taking place between management and Agile delivery teams. In A Seat at the Table, CIO Mark Schwartz explores the role of IT leadership as it is now and opens the door to reveal IT leadership as it should be—an integral part of the value creation engine. With an easy style, Schwartz reveals that the only way to become an Agile IT leader is to be courageous—to throw off the attitude and assumptions that have kept CIOs from taking their rightful seat at the table. CIOs, step on up, your seat at the table is waiting for you.

This fascinating look at global politics follows New Zealand's fourth term as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, from 2015 to 2016. Its engrossing chapters by key players, from the then Minister for Foreign Affairs Murray McCully to the two-term New Zealand President of the Security Council Gerard van Bohemen, offer real insights into the Council's day-to-day workings. This book examines New Zealand's efforts to improve Council processes, and asks: Given the dominance of the P5—the United States, China, Russia, France, and the United Kingdom—is there a role on the Security Council for smaller nations? And can they effect meaningful change for those suffering in war-torn and corrupt countries?

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms has been used to strike down fifty-eight statutes that permitted the exclusion of persons with disabilities, women, ethnic minorities, or gays and lesbians. While some conservatives see this trend as "rulings for the many by the few," those representing excluded groups view their successful court challenges against unjust laws as a long-awaited coming of age, allowing them to finally obtain a seat at the table.

When Shirley Chisholm was asked why she would dare run for president, her response was, why not her? Shirley Anita St. Hill Chisholm rose from being the child of immigrants to the United States to running for the highest office in the land. She was both the first African American woman elected to the US Congress and the first African American woman of a major political party to make a serious run for president of the United States. These achievements were not in spite of her background but rather because of it. She persevered by being steadfast in her political convictions and unwilling to compromise on the issues she believed in. Chisholm directly challenged the political establishment and gave a political voice to so many segments of society that were historically ignored—women, racial minorities, young people, the gay community, domestic and agricultural workers, and the poor—not only in her home district in Brooklyn, New York, but across the country. Her run for the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination may not have ended in victory, but it was successful in forging a grassroots campaign that united diverse Americans behind a candidate who championed their collective interests. Her efforts laid the groundwork for change then, now, and in the future. Without Shirley Chisholm there may not have been a Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or Kamala Harris.
