Pulphouse Fiction Magazine gives you “afterlife” like no other magazine. No idea what afterlife means exactly, but these ten stories suggest a few things. Not sure why we thought the afterlife might be full of creepy stories, but that turned out to be the title of this fine book, so we went with it by including ghosts and zombies that solve crimes and other things that go bump. Yes, we consider ghosts and zombines solving crimes kind of creepy. Grab this book full of ten stories from the page of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine, see if you don’t agree.

We came up with this title for an anthology of ten stories from the pages of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine and then had to look up the definition of the word “wringer.” Seems a wringer (easily misspelled as “writer") used to be an instrument of torture to squeeze stuff. Yup, that fit. So ten writers in ten stories put their characters through wringers in one form or another in these pages, and it turned out honestly, fantastic fun to read. And amazing how all the stories fit a title we had to look up. The Sea Girl’s Survival by Valerie Brook Seeing Him For the First Time by David H. Hendrickson Drumbeats by Kevin J. Mystery short stories twisted in fantasy or science fiction settings. Straight detective fiction or a cozy like no other cozy before it. Ten great mystery and crime stories that could only have come from the pages of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. As far as answering the question of “whodoneit” with a crime. Sure, the authors in this volume do their best, but not in any way you might expect in a regular mystery. Of course nothing ever seems “regular” in Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. The weird title fits the ten great short stories in this book. All ten stories come from the pages of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine, so of course the stories fit the title. That title does not shout romance. It shouts weirdness, a book full of weirdness with maybe just a twang of love. Stories of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and combinations of genres fill these pages, all done by top writers of short fiction. And all the stories feature twangs of love, whatever that might be. (You know it when you see it.)
