Literate world history took shape during the course of the third millennium BCE chiefly in the Mesopotamian land of Sumer. There is a vast difference between the way secular scholars process this data and the way believers in the Bible can and should process it. By accepting at face value both the chronological perspective of the Bible and the high longevities of the Noahic patriarchs, biblicists can make sense of Sumerian data and revolutionize the image of world history at its source. This book details the genealogical comparisons of all the nations mythological pantheons with the Genesis Chapter 10 list of post flood patriarchs and establishes a foundation for building a true history of mankind. 420 pp.

To make good on this premise, it is essential to compare and match names from king lists and mythological pantheons. What emerges from these comparisons is a set of fifty-four feudal and imperial aristocrats who created world civilization in their own image. Once these persons are known, world history loses its aura of randomness and anonymity and takes shape as a single, variously detailed story. This book details the genealogical comparisons of all the nations mythological pantheons with the Genesis Chapter 10 list of post flood patriarchs and establishes a foundation for building a true history of mankind.

The Book of Jubilees or as it is sometimes called "the little Genesis " purports to be a revelation given by God to Moses through the medium of an angel and containing a history divided up into jubilee-periods of forty-nine years from the creation to the coming of Moses. Though the actual narrative of events is only carried down to the birth and early career of Moses its author envisages the events of a later time and in particular certain events of special interest at the time when he wrote which was probably in the latter years of the second century B.C. perhaps in the reign of the Maccabean prince John Hyrcanus. Though distinguished from the Pentateuch proper it presupposes and supplements the latter. The actual narrative embraces material contained in the whole of Genesis and part of Exodus. But the legal regulations given presuppose other parts of the Pentateuch especially the so-called "Priest's Code" and certain details in the narrative are probably intended to apply to events that occurred in the author's own time the latter years of the second century B.C. The author himself seems to have contemplated the speedy inauguration of the Messianic Age and in this respect his point of view is similar to that of the Apocalyptic writers. But his work though it contains one or two passages of an apocalyptic character is quite unlike the typical apocalypses. It is largely narrative based upon the historical narratives in Genesis and Exodus interspersed with legends and emphasizing certain legal practices. But his main object was to inculcate a reform in the regulation of the calendar and festivals in place of the intercalated lunar calendar which he condemns in the strongest language. He proposes to substitute for this a solar calendar consisting of 12 months and containing 364 days. Wilder Publications is a green publisher. All of our books are printed to order. The study of African philosophy, like all great philosophical enquiries around the world, is fraught with the wrecks of words, wrenched from their original meaning, widened or narrowed, and forced into a bewildering variety of vessels that chum their ways in seas of semantic confusion. African philosophical studies has acquired and added to the many philosophical verbal transmogrifications that came originally from the Igbo of south-eastern Nigeria. In its turn, it has produced its own eccentric philosophical etymology, of which, perhaps the most striking example is Igwebuike philosophy. A reflection on Igwebuike philosophy reveals that it is a product of a meticulous and critical study of African philosophy. It is in this light that the scrupulous researcher would dissect the profound thinker behind the Igwebuike philosophy. In this book, scholars of different hues and academic endeavours have made excursus into the origin, originator, meaning and relevance of Igwebuike philosophy to contemporary African philosophical scholarship and African societies. Research shows that the brain behind Igwebuike philosophy that is gradually becoming a major part of African philosophical engagement is incontestably Prof Ikechukwu Anthony Kanu, O.S.A. Igwebuike itself is a philosophical principle that is drawn from African primordial practice of solidarity and complementarity; the works of professional African philosophers, African proverbs, African folk tales, African mythology, African symbols, African names and African songs. — Kanayo L. We are obsessed with 'barbarians'. They are the 'not us', who don't speak our language, or 'any language', whom we depise, fear, invade and kill; for whom we feel compassion, or admiration, and an intense sexual interest; whose innocence or vigour we aspire to, and who have an extraordinaryinfluence on the comportment, and even modes of dress, of our civilised metropolitan lives; whom we often outdo in the barbarism we impute to them; and whose suspected resemblance to us haunts our introspections and imaginings. They come in two overlapping categories, ethnic others and home-grownpariahs: conquered infidels and savages, the Irish, the poor, the Jews. This book looks afresh at how we have confronted the idea of 'barbarism', in ourselves and others, from 1492 to 1945, through the voices of many writers, chiefly Montaigne, Swift and, to a lesser extent, Shaw.

This is the extended and annotated edition including * an extensive annotation of almost 10.000 words about the oracles in religion * an interactive table-of-contents * perfect formatting for electronic reading devices THE Sibyls occupy a conspicuous place in the traditions and history of ancient Greece and Rome. Their fame was spread abroad long before the beginning of the Christian era. Heraclitus of Ephesus, five centuries before Christ, compared himself to the Sibyl "who, speaking with inspired mouth, without a smile, without ornament, and without perfume, penetrates through centuries by the power of the gods." The ancient traditions vary in reporting the number and the names of these weird prophetesses, and much of what has been handed down to us is legendary. But whatever opinion one may hold respecting the various legends, there can be little doubt that a collection of Sibylline Oracles was at one time preserved at Rome. There are, moreover, various oracles, purporting to have been written by ancient Sibyls, found in the writings of Pausanias, Plutarch, Livy, and in other Greek and Latin authors. Whether any of these citations formed a portion of the Sibylline books once kept in Rome we cannot now determine; but the Roman capitol was destroyed by fire in the time of Sulla (B. C. 84), and again in the time of Vespasian (A. D. 69), and whatever books were at those dates kept therein doubtless perished in the flames. It is said by some of the ancients that a subsequent collection of oracles was made, but, if so, there is now no certainty that any fragments of them remain.
