Cette nomenclature sino-française se présente comme la synthèse des avis de plus de soixante spécialistes pour constituer un langage commun, en gardant le sens le plus conforme à la pensée chinoise de chacun de ses termes. Elle fait désormais office de norme académique pour faciliter la communication et proposer les traductions d'expressions, de citations des Classiques et de termes fondamentaux de la Médecine Chinoise qui puissent être acceptées et utilisées par tous. Le travail du comité de rédaction de cette nomenclature a été récompensé en 2010 par le prix de la "meilleure contribution internationale à la Médecine Chinoise" décerné par la WFCMS.
