What's going on here? One President wining and dining with the greatest mass-murdering Communist in history! Another President authorized a national holiday to honor a demagogue who proclaimed himself a Marxist! One President presented a notorious security risk with a $50,000 tax-free award! Another President delivered more than 2,000,000 people to Communist Occupied Russia for execution or incarceration in slave labor camps! One President protected a Communist slave labor dictatorship from invasion! Yes, what exactly is going on here? Thomas J. Anderson aptly concluded: "Ours is the only nation whose leaders could have done what they've done without being tried for treason."

This fact-packed exposé reveals all the dirty little secrets that Michele Bachmann would rather you didn't know Since Michele Bachmann became a front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, journalists have been plumbing the depths of the well-regarded blog Dump Bachmann for material on her. Now the bloggers themselves pour forth a decade's worth of research and analysis to show that, no matter what you've heard about Bachmann, there's worse. Much worse. After dogging her heels for the past decade, they reveal the blood-curdling truth about the woman who may well become the Republican Party’s 2012 presidential nominee. Describes Bachmann's faith-based antischool agenda and antigay crusade Explores her fellow travelers, her problematic pastors, and criminal supporters, any of whom could become her Rev. Jeremiah Wright Reveals the boondoggles she's supported, the pernicious legislation she's championed (but, fortunately, almost never passed), and her foreign policy, which boils down to Jesus will be her Secretary of Defense Exposes the truth behind the notorious "Bathroomgate" incident Uncovers the influence of outside money on Bachmann's campaigns, causes, and policies Democrats disappointed by Obama, Republicans embarrassed by their party's shallow field of candidates, and moderate independents looking for a reasonable choice need to know all they can about presidential contenders. The Madness of Michele Bachman provides deep background they won't find in the mainstream media.

In Search Of Another Country written by Joseph Crespino and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-13 with History categories.

In the 1960s, Mississippi was the heart of white southern resistance to the civil-rights movement. To many, it was a backward-looking society of racist authoritarianism and violence that was sorely out of step with modern liberal America. White Mississippians, however, had a different vision of themselves and their country, one so persuasive that by 1980 they had become important players in Ronald Reagan's newly ascendant Republican Party. In this ambitious reassessment of racial politics in the deep South, Joseph Crespino reveals how Mississippi leaders strategically accommodated themselves to the demands of civil-rights activists and the federal government seeking to end Jim Crow, and in so doing contributed to a vibrant conservative countermovement. Crespino explains how white Mississippians linked their fight to preserve Jim Crow with other conservative causes--with evangelical Christians worried about liberalism infecting their churches, with cold warriors concerned about the Communist threat, and with parents worried about where and with whom their children were schooled. Crespino reveals important divisions among Mississippi whites, offering the most nuanced portrayal yet of how conservative southerners bridged the gap between the politics of Jim Crow and that of the modern Republican South. This book lends new insight into how white Mississippians gave rise to a broad, popular reaction against modern liberalism that recast American politics in the closing decades of the twentieth century.

The Nation: A Biography tells the surprising story behind America’s oldest weekly magazine, instigator of progress since 1865—the bickering abolitionists who founded it; the campaigns, causes and controversies that shaped it; the rebels, mavericks and visionaries who have written, edited and fought in its pages for 150 years and counting. The story of The Nation is also the story of our country—and our movement. Entertaining as well as inspiring, Guttenplan’s history of The Nation is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand where we came from—and how to continue the march toward a radical future. “Here’s to The Nation on its 150th birthday,” historian Eric Foner writes in the introduction. “This book makes clear why we should hope that the country’s oldest weekly magazine survives for at least another century and a half.”

"Lee Edwards has always been in the forefront of the struggle to restore America, to bring it back to its ancient moorings. . . . Lee has fought hard with uncommon intelligence and resourcefulness. But he has fought fair and always without rancor. . . . Truly, a man for all seasons."—President Ronald ReaganLee Edwards is not just a leading historian of the conservative movement; he has been an active player in the movement longer than anyone else.As the Daily Caller noted in a recent profile, Edwards "has lived conservative history like none other." And he brings that history to life in Just Right. This memoir is full of colorful stories from a man who has been present at nearly every major event of the modern conservative movement and has done it all in a remarkable, multifaceted career.Just Right reveals:•Edwards's insider account of Barry Goldwater's pivotal 1964 presidential campaign, for which he ran national publicity•How he wrote the first political biography of Ronald Reagan—and discovered early on that Reagan was a secret intellectual who read Hayek, Bastiat, and Chambers•Excerpts from his fifty-year-long correspondence with William F. Buckley Jr., revealing new aspects of WFB •Why the New York Times dubbed Edwards "The 'Voice' of the Silent Majority" •How he organized the largest public demonstration in support of our men in Vietnam•How he created the Victims of Communism Memorial in Washington, pushing against the federal bureaucracy for two decades to make it happenLee Edwards's memoir appears at a critical time in the history of American conservatism. In an inspiring chapter aimed at the rising generation, Dr. Edwards shows how conservatives can remain a major political and philosophical force in America.
