In Nonlinear Dynamics and Pattern Formation in Semiconductors and Devices the contributions of the International Conference on Nonlinear Dynamics and Pattern Formation in the Natural Environment (ICPF '94) in Noordwijkerhout, held by many internationally reknown experts, are compiled. To connect the field of semiconductor physics with the theory of nonequilibrium dissipative systems, the emphasis lies on the study of localized structures, their stability and bifurcation behaviour. A point of special interest is the evolution of dynamic structures and the investigation of more complex structures arising from interactions between these structures. Possible applications of nonlinear effects and self-organization phenomena with respect to signal processing are discussed.

Besides turbulence there is hardly any other scientific topic which has been considered as a prominent scientific challenge for such a long time. The special interest in turbulence is not only based on it being a difficult scientific problem but also on its meaning in the technical world and our daily life. This carefully edited book comprises recent basic research as well as research related to the applications of turbulence. Therefore, both leading engineers and physicists working in the field of turbulence were invited to the iTi Conference on Turbulence held in Bad Zwischenahn, Gemany 25th - 28th of September 2005. Discussed topics include, for example, scaling laws and intermittency, thermal convection, boundary layers at large Reynolds numbers, isotropic turbulence, stochastic processes, passive and active scalars, coherent structures, numerical simulations, and related subjects.

Nonlinear Wave Methods For Charge Transport written by Luis L. Bonilla and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-12-09 with Science categories.
The present book introduces and develops mathematical techniques for the treatment of nonlinear waves and singular perturbation methods at a level that is suitable for graduate students, researchers and faculty throughout the natural sciences and engineering. The practice of implementing these techniques and their value are largely realized by showing their application to problems of nonlinear wave phenomena in electronic transport in solid state materials, especially bulk semiconductors and semiconductor superlattices. The authors are recognized leaders in this field, with more than 30 combined years of contributions.

Semiconductor Superlattices Growth And Electronic Properties written by Fernando Agullo-rueda and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-04-17 with Science categories.
This book surveys semiconductor superlattices, in particular their growth and electronic properties in an applied electric field perpendicular to the layers. The main developments in this field, which were achieved in the last five to seven years, are summarized. The electronic properties include transport through minibands at low electric field strengths, the Wannier-Stark localization and Bloch oscillations at intermediate electric field strengths, resonant tunneling of electrons and holes between different subbands, and the formation of electric field domains for large carrier densities at high electric field strengths.

More than a decade ago, because of the phenomenal growth in the power of computer simulations, The University of Georgia formed the first institutional unit devoted to the use of simulations in research and teaching: The Center for Simulational Physics. As the simulations community expanded further, we sensed a need for a meeting place for both experienced simulators and neophytes to discuss new techniques and recent results in an environment which promoted extended discussion. As a consequence, the Center for Simulational Physics established an annual workshop on Recent Developments in Computer Simulation Studies in Condensed Matter Physics. This year's workshop was the eleventh in this series, and the interest shown by the scientific community demonstrates quite clearly the useful purpose which the series has served. The latest workshop was held at The University of Georgia, February 23-27, 1998, and these proceedings provide a "status report" on a number of important topics. This volume is published with the goal of timely dissemination of the material to a wider audience. We wish to offer a special thanks to IBM Corporation for their generous support of this year's workshop. This volume contains both invited papers and contributed presentations on problems in both classical and quantum condensed matter physics. We hope that each reader will benefit from specialized results as well as profit from exposure to new algorithms, methods of analysis, and conceptual developments. Athens, GA, U. S. A. D. P. The volume constitutes the proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Noise in Physical Systems and 1/f Fluctuations (ICNF'95) held in Palanga, Lithuania, in the period 29 May - 3 June 1995.International conference of fluctuation phenomena has a rich history. Previous ones were held in St. Louis (USA, 1993), Kyoto (Japan, 1991), Budapest (Hungary, 1989), Montreal (Canada, 1983), etc. The conference proved to be successful in bringing together specialists in fluctuation phenomena in very different areas, and providing a bridge linking theorists and applied scientists involved in the design of new generation of electronic devices. Correspondingly, the volume covers fundamental aspects of noise in various fields of science and modern technology. Mesoscopic fluctuations, noise in high temperature superconductors, in nanoscale structures, in optoelectronic and microwave devices, fluctuation phenomena in biological systems and human body are in the spotlight.

Materials and Measurements in Molecular Electronics presents new developments in one of the most promising areas of electronics technology for the 21st century. Conjugated polymers, carbon clusters, and many other new molecular materials have been synthesized or discovered in recent years, and some now are on the threshold of commercial application. In the development of molecular materials, detailed knowledge of the structures and electronic states of molecular aggregates is essential. The focus of this book is on the development of new molecular materials and measuring techniques based on modern spectroscopy; included are such topics as Langmuir-Blodgett films, cluster materials, organic conductors, and conjugated electroluminescent polymers.
