Available online: https://pub.norden.org/nord2021-006/ Nordic Cross-border Statistics were produced in the years 2016 to 2020 as a part of the project ‘Nordic Mobility’. The project was initiated by the former Finnish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2016 and was funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. All Nordic statistical institutes – Statistics Denmark, Statistics Iceland, Statistics Norway and Statistics Sweden – participated in the project which was coordinated by Statistics Finland. The project succeeded in producing the first ever systematic collection of Nordic statistics on mobility that includes all five Nordic countries. The matrices produced in the project are disseminated in the Nordic Statistics database (https://www.nordicstatistics.org/).

The handbook is collects the lessons learned in cross-border data exchange in the fields of studying and using healthservices in another Nordic and Baltic country, and in the use of Nordic and Baltic legal databases. The aim is to provide the reader with insights and ideas for future development by pinpointing identified networks, interesting initiatives, and potential funding mechanisms, as well as highlighting case examples that could be utilised in the development of cross-border collaboration.

Fokus läggs på gränsöverskridande arbetspendling i allmänhet och nordisk arbetsmarknad för kulturskapare i synnerhet. Covid-19-pandemin hade en negativ påverkan på gränsutbyten men resultatet visar på en återhämtning. För kultursektorn finns säsongsskillnader där vissa kvartal innebär en mer frekvent pendling, totalsiffrorna är dock blygsamma om man ser till arbetspendling som helhet. Studien visar att Öresundsregionen utmärker sig som en mer integrerad arbetsmarknad, men tillgången till ytterligare pendlingsdata för kulturskapare skulle kunna påverka helhetsbilden. Rapporten innehåller även en analys av handel med kulturella varor och tjänster mellan de nordiska länderna. Under den senaste tioårsperioden har ett skifte skett där handel med kulturella tjänster gått om handel med kulturella varor. Rapporten är framtagen av Kulturanalys Norden. Kulturanalys Norden är ett nordiskt kunskapscentrum för kulturpolitik som etablerats på uppdrag av Nordiska ministerrådet. Rapporten är skriven på svenska med en sammanfattning på engelska.

The report outlines the current situation of cross-border data exchange between authorities in the Nordic and Baltic countries, while focusing on the three work packages of the presidency project: Studying in another Nordic-Baltic country, using health services in another Nordic-Baltic country, and the versatile use of the Nordic-Baltic legislative databases. Additionally, the barriers to cross-border data exchange was assessed based on the four interoperability layers of the European Interoperability Framework: legal, organisational, semantic and technical interoperability. The report will form the basis of the continued work of the presidency project.
