Sister Lizzy Iweala presents a wonderful and timely book titled Pastors Also Cry. She candidly spells out some of the personal battles, fears and struggles that pastors must overcome on a regular basis. Some Pastors are sometimes either in denial of or lack the wherewithal for dealing with various struggles. She shows many challenges that can avert a person from his or her divinely ordained destiny to serve the Lord. The writer draws attention to how the lack of balance between ministry work and family easily opens a window for the enemy to attack and derail the God-given mandate of ministry. This book is not a voyeuristic trip into the trials of pastors, but rather a means to humanize the men and women of the cloth.

As a genocide survivor, and a wanted person, After I had made the great step in achieving healing and deliverance, when Satan failed to maintain me among his hostages as I got strength to forgive and heal; After a long struggle and a mudy journey towards deliverance and healing I thought this message would be worthy to be told so that many people who have experience similar to mine can get out of darkness and embrace the light. Sometimes we don't heal because we think we suffered so much than others; we think we are the only ones who suffered and don't think about others; Jesus who suffered so that we can be delivered is the Light. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

We Are Not Dreamers written by Leisy J. Abrego and has been published by Duke University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-08-14 with Social Science categories.

The widely recognized “Dreamer narrative” celebrates the educational and economic achievements of undocumented youth to justify a path to citizenship. While a well-intentioned, strategic tactic to garner political support of undocumented youth, it has promoted the idea that access to citizenship and rights should be granted only to a select group of “deserving” immigrants. The contributors to We Are Not Dreamers—themselves currently or formerly undocumented—poignantly counter the Dreamer narrative by grappling with the nuances of undocumented life in this country. Theorizing those excluded from the Dreamer category—academically struggling students, transgender activists, and queer undocumented parents—the contributors call for an expansive articulation of immigrant rights and justice that recognizes the full humanity of undocumented immigrants while granting full and unconditional rights. Illuminating how various institutions reproduce and benefit from exclusionary narratives, this volume articulates the dangers of the Dreamer narrative and envisions a different way forward. Contributors. Leisy J. Abrego, Gabrielle Cabrera, Gabriela Garcia Cruz, Lucía León, Katy Joseline Maldonado Dominguez, Grecia Mondragón, Gabriela Monico, Genevieve Negrón-Gonzales, Maria Liliana Ramirez, Joel Sati, Audrey Silvestre, Carolina Valdivia

Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race,” a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of black women and men—bodies exploited through slavery and segregation, and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’s attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son. Coates shares with his son—and readers—the story of his awakening to the truth about his place in the world through a series of revelatory experiences, from Howard University to Civil War battlefields, from the South Side of Chicago to Paris, from his childhood home to the living rooms of mothers whose children’s lives were taken as American plunder. Beautifully woven from personal narrative, reimagined history, and fresh, emotionally charged reportage, Between the World and Me clearly illuminates the past, bracingly confronts our present, and offers a transcendent vision for a way forward.

Why I Write written by George Orwell and has been published by Renard Press Ltd this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-01-01 with Literary Collections categories.

George Orwell set out ‘to make political writing into an art’, and to a wide extent this aim shaped the future of English literature – his descriptions of authoritarian regimes helped to form a new vocabulary that is fundamental to understanding totalitarianism. While 1984 and Animal Farm are amongst the most popular classic novels in the English language, this new series of Orwell’s essays seeks to bring a wider selection of his writing on politics and literature to a new readership. In Why I Write, the first in the Orwell’s Essays series, Orwell describes his journey to becoming a writer, and his movement from writing poems to short stories to the essays, fiction and non-fiction we remember him for. He also discusses what he sees as the ‘four great motives for writing’ – ‘sheer egoism’, ‘aesthetic enthusiasm’, ‘historical impulse’ and ‘political purpose’ – and considers the importance of keeping these in balance. Why I Write is a unique opportunity to look into Orwell’s mind, and it grants the reader an entirely different vantage point from which to consider the rest of the great writer’s oeuvre. 'A writer who can – and must – be rediscovered with every age.' — Irish Times
