Where in the world did Common Courtesy go?! I don't want to ruin this story for you, but I found out Common Courtesy is dying a slow and painful death. I want it back, so welcome to my journey. I did find pockets of courtesy here and there that are fairly healthy, but it is definitely no longer 'common'. Common Courtesy used to describe behaviors that everyone was expected to know and practice, hence the word 'common'. There was a personal accountability to being courteous. Your manners and etiquette were not just about how you treated others, it was a show of your attitude in general. This book is about finding Common Courtesy and putting it back on the road to good health. Topics include: Communication Courtesy, Public Places, Traveling and Personal Courtesy. I have made this interactive for the reader (e.g. sign the front of the book, adding ideas in certain sections, Pass-it-Along Pages, etc.). Have fun! As Gandhi would and did say, "Be the change you want to see in the world."

Arbuthnot as essays in common courtesy, has the author been able to explain the individual sense of each one in turn and to show how its creator made this sense widely available and widely agreeable?

Discover the hidden power of nice. The Meaning of Nice is a multi-faceted exploration of a simple word and how it has developed over time and among various disciplines. With emphasis on philosophy, positive psychology and interpersonal relationships, Joan Duncan Oliver probes theories and practices to explain why and how nice girls can get the corner office and nice guys can finish first. We tend to associate "nice" people with kindness and good manners - it's an indistinct, generic kind of praise. Joan Duncan Oliver restores the power of nice, and shows how this complex quality can change your life, and has never been more crucial to our well-being as individuals and as a society.

This book is the short slap to the back of the head most people need nowadays. In a world that's more likely to flip the bird than hold the door, it's their reminder of proper behavior. You'll receive a (re-)schooling in manners with lessons split up by situation, then tackled by topic. Each note corrects conduct that's become all too common, like . . . Bad Behavior: Popping a piece of gum into your mouth midconversation, and stressing your point by snapping it. Courteous Fix: If you're going to have a piece of gum while talking to someone, be sure to offer your companion a piece--and keep your mouth closed as you chew. You want your breath to be fresh. Not your attitude. It's a reminder that it wasn't always out of place to be polite.

In America we are lucky enough to experience people from all walks of life but sometimes we are not so lucky to come in contact with some of those life walkers. These days we live in an extreme, raw and often times selfish world where kindness is viewed as weakness and common sense is not very common. Even though times are hard, we do not have to show each other hate. We have many choices to make everyday but we do not have to leave our manners or morals behind. You will be amazed at what a big difference these little changes can make.

Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred. How forcible are right words! but what does your agruing reprove? (Job 6:2425). This book is about everyday words that we use without fully realizing the true biblical meaning to them. I put this book together because the words we choose to say and write have great meaning and power. The words that we use each and every day convey messages to others. Words can hurt us, lift us up, and destroy us. We can encourage one another with words, or we can crush the hope and dreams of those we love with them. As you read through this book, you will find that each and every word in this book is in the Webster Dictionary, but the meanings that I want to convey to my readers are the same words, but with powerful biblical meanings. They are words that will guide you with their profound and biblical meaning. Doing research for this book took me to every channel of biblical knowledge in the internet, many long hours, and a closer relationship with Father/Jesus. It has forever become a beautiful, life-changing experience. Although this book started with the death of my husband, it became clearer to me that I wanted to get to know God more than ever in my life. More reasons included cultural literacy, learning firsthand what the Bible says, personal edification, and to help others like myself to gain a better understanding of Jesus and his mission, because the Bible is Gods Word. Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build you the sancturary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD (1 Chron. 22:19). My ultimate goal is getting to know God better through his Word. I believe that we should make it a habit to set aside a regular time and place to spend time with our Father in heaven. I can assure you that this will also be a life-changing experience for you. Even though I make this a habit each and every day, I will continue and pursue in-depth my passion to grow spiritually until my death.
