Neurodiversity-Affirming Psychotherapy: Clinical Pathways to Autistic Mental Health provides an attachment-based framework within which clinicians can support autistic/neurodivergent clients to benefit from effective, trauma-informed psychotherapy. This book builds upon practice-based evidence to guide neurotypical psychotherapists in case conceptualization and treatment planning for autistic/neurodivergent individuals, many of whom received behaviour modification rather than psychotherapy to address mental health needs in childhood. Widening the lens on autistic wellbeing, the author addresses multiple features of diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergence, highlighting the pivotal elements of communication, sensory processing, and executive functioning, and emphasizing secure attachment relationships as foundational to mental health. Throughout the book, the neurodiversity-affirming approach and framework are illuminated through clinical examples. This book delivers practical guidance and clinical insight, offering therapists a clear understanding of the mental health issues commonly experienced by autistic/neurodivergent adults, and guiding them and their clients along a robust pathway to autistic mental health.

This book shouldn't exist. No, seriously. It's not because the world doesn't need it. Somebody had to write it. I decided that somebody should be me. My name is Rossino Griffin, but please call me Rossi. I am 22 years old, and I have FASD. Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder affects at least 4% of young people in the UK. It's linked to over 420 different conditions, from ADHD to hypermobility to epilepsy. Sure, there are all sorts of statistics and scientific studies about FASD, but what's it actually like? Join Rossi as he guides you through his life with FASD. Through make-up, mayhem, and marbles (found, lost, and swallowed!), Rossi and his mum share their experiences and insights, and offer ways for other young people living with FASD to find their own Brilliant.

Although the field of Neuro-Oncology has grown considerably in the last 10 to 15 years and has a rather extensive literature, there are no comprehensive, "single-source books that summarize the current literature and future trends of neuroimaging in neuro-oncology. This book covers this topic in more comprehensive fashion, making it an important addition to the armamentarium of physicians that care for patients with brain tumors and other neuro-oncological disorders. Well-founded in basic science, it includes chapters that provide an overview of relevant background material in critical areas such as physics, contrast agents, ultra-high field brain MRI, and molecular imaging.

Elements Of Neurogeometry written by Jean Petitot and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-08 with Mathematics categories.
This book describes several mathematical models of the primary visual cortex, referring them to a vast ensemble of experimental data and putting forward an original geometrical model for its functional architecture, that is, the highly specific organization of its neural connections. The book spells out the geometrical algorithms implemented by this functional architecture, or put another way, the “neurogeometry” immanent in visual perception. Focusing on the neural origins of our spatial representations, it demonstrates three things: firstly, the way the visual neurons filter the optical signal is closely related to a wavelet analysis; secondly, the contact structure of the 1-jets of the curves in the plane (the retinal plane here) is implemented by the cortical functional architecture; and lastly, the visual algorithms for integrating contours from what may be rather incomplete sensory data can be modelled by the sub-Riemannian geometry associated with this contact structure. As such, it provides readers with the first systematic interpretation of a number of important neurophysiological observations in a well-defined mathematical framework. The book’s neuromathematical exploration appeals to graduate students and researchers in integrative-functional-cognitive neuroscience with a good mathematical background, as well as those in applied mathematics with an interest in neurophysiology.
