The Shakespeare authorship hoax, foisted on a gullible world four hundred years ago by England's most powerful politicians, William and Robert Cecil, is the most successful and longest-lasting ruse in the Western World. Destroying available documents pertaining to the life of Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, including his intimate interaction with the Royal Court, the two Cecils forced him to adopt a pen name and tried to make him disappear from history despite his vital role in the remarkable Elizabethan Era. In the past century, impressive scholarly research has clearly shown that de Vere was indeed William Shakespeare, the great playwright and poet. In Volume Two, delve into: o Extraordinary research discoveries from England o Emergence of the first American Oxfordian scholarly giants o Shakespeare's own secret dramas and those of the Royal Court; o The inherent logic of Edward de Vere as the Shakespeare; o And much more! Find out how one of the greatest playwrights and poets of all time has been masked with the name of an impostor. Continue Building the Case for Edward de Vere as Shakespeare with Volume Two: Nothing Truer than Truth.

“A book for anyone who loves Shakespeare . . . One of the most scandalous and potentially revolutionary theories about the authorship of these immortal works.” —Mark Rylance, First Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre It is perhaps the greatest story never told: the truth behind the most enduring works of literature in the English language, perhaps in any language. Who was William Shakespeare? Critically acclaimed historian Charles Beauclerk has spent more than two decades researching the authorship question, and if the plays were discovered today, he argues, we would see them for what they are—shocking political works written by a court insider, someone with the monarch’s indulgence, shielded from repression in an unstable time of armada and reformation. But the author’s identity was quickly swept under the rug after his death. The official history—of an uneducated merchant writing in near obscurity, and of a virginal queen married to her country—dominated for centuries. Shakespeare’s Lost Kingdom delves deep into the conflicts and personalities of Elizabethan England, as well as the plays themselves, to tell the true story of the “Soul of the Age.” “Beauclerk’s learned, deep scholarship, compelling research, engaging style and convincing interpretation won me completely. He has made me view the whole Elizabethan world afresh. The plays glow with new life, exciting and real, infused with the soul of a man too long denied his inheritance.” —Sir Derek Jacobi

Presenting striking new evidence, this book shows that "William Shakespeare" was the pen name of William Stanley, son of the Earl of Derby. Born in 1561, he was educated at Oxford, travelled for three years abroad, and studied law in London, mixing with poets and playwrights. In 1592 Spenser recorded that Stanley had written several plays. In 1594 he unexpectedly inherited the earldom--hence the pen name. He became a Knight of the Garter in 1601, eligible to help bear the canopy over King James at his coronation, likely prompting Sonnet 125's "Wer't ought to me I bore the canopy?"--he is the only authorship candidate ever in a position to "bear the canopy" (which was only ever borne over royalty). Love's Labour's Lost parodies an obscure poem by Stanley's tutor, which few others would have read. Hamlet's situation closely mirrors Stanley's in 1602. His name is concealed in the list of actors' names in the First Folio. His writing habits match Shakespeare's as deduced from the early printed plays. He was a patron of players who performed several times at court, and financed the troupe known as Paul's Boys. No other member of the upper class was so thoroughly immersed in the theatrical world.

Could Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, have been the true author of the plays attributed to actor William Shakespeare of Stratford-on-Avon? Eclipse of the Sun focuses on events of the earl's life which parallel incidents in the plays. Oxford's first wife, like Juliet, was 14 when they married. Oxford was wounded in a street fight similar to the conflicts between the Montagues and Capulets. Like Othello, Oxford became estranged from his wife because of unfounded gossip. There were Elizabethan court incidents involving masquerade and mistaken identities as portrayed in "As You Like It." Like the comic Falstaff, Oxford was known to overindulge with alcohol and entertain his comrades with his antics. Similar to King Lear, Oxford had three daughters, and at a low point in his life, verged upon insanity. Queen Elizabeth forced Oxford to keep his authorship of the plays secret because it was considered inappropriate in that era for noblemen to engage in any form of labor. Sex, violence, and intrigue in the court of Elizabeth I conspired to mask a grievous case of identity theft, perpetuating what may be the greatest literary hoax of all time.

In recent years there has been a cautious movement towards seeing psychotherapy and counselling as arts not as sciences. In this rich, yet rigorous, multidisciplinary text, this movement is explored in terms of poetry; therapy; dreams; literary texts; Heideggerian, Kantian, and post-modern philosophy; the modern developmental theorising of Daniel Stern; and the politics of psychotherapy regulation. This path-breaking book offers a grounded challenge to reductive visions of the therapy process.
