Numerical Methods For Extreme Responses Of Dynamical Systems written by Mircea D. Grigoriu and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-01-22 with Mathematics categories.
This book constructs input finite dimensional (FD) models that are amendable for numerical calculations and provides accurate representations for responses of dynamical systems to these inputs, i.e., numerical solutions of stochastic equations. It establishes conditions under which numerical solutions of these equations deliver accurate estimates of extreme responses of dynamical systems that are needed to, for example, predict extreme weather events and design reliable aircrafts. It is intended to serve a broad audience including graduate students, researchers, engineers, scientists and applied mathematicians interested in the formulation and solutions of complex stochastic problems.

Stochastic Dynamics Of Structures written by Jie Li and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-07-23 with Technology & Engineering categories.
In Stochastic Dynamics of Structures, Li and Chen present a unified view of the theory and techniques for stochastic dynamics analysis, prediction of reliability, and system control of structures within the innovative theoretical framework of physical stochastic systems. The authors outline the fundamental concepts of random variables, stochastic process and random field, and orthogonal expansion of random functions. Readers will gain insight into core concepts such as stochastic process models for typical dynamic excitations of structures, stochastic finite element, and random vibration analysis. Li and Chen also cover advanced topics, including the theory of and elaborate numerical methods for probability density evolution analysis of stochastic dynamical systems, reliability-based design, and performance control of structures. Stochastic Dynamics of Structures presents techniques for researchers and graduate students in a wide variety of engineering fields: civil engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace and aeronautics, marine and offshore engineering, ship engineering, and applied mechanics. Practicing engineers will benefit from the concise review of random vibration theory and the new methods introduced in the later chapters. "The book is a valuable contribution to the continuing development of the field of stochastic structural dynamics, including the recent discoveries and developments by the authors of the probability density evolution method (PDEM) and its applications to the assessment of the dynamic reliability and control of complex structures through the equivalent extreme-value distribution." —A. H-S. Ang, NAE, Hon. Mem. ASCE, Research Professor, University of California, Irvine, USA "The authors have made a concerted effort to present a responsible and even holistic account of modern stochastic dynamics. Beyond the traditional concepts, they also discuss theoretical tools of recent currency such as the Karhunen-Loeve expansion, evolutionary power spectra, etc. The theoretical developments are properly supplemented by examples from earthquake, wind, and ocean engineering. The book is integrated by also comprising several useful appendices, and an exhaustive list of references; it will be an indispensable tool for students, researchers, and practitioners endeavoring in its thematic field." —Pol Spanos, NAE, Ryon Chair in Engineering, Rice University, Houston, USA

Stochastic Dynamic Response And Stability Of Ships And Offshore Platforms written by Yingguang Wang and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-24 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This textbook investigates in detail the methods for stochastic dynamic response and stability analyses of nonlinear systems (especially ships and ocean engineering systems), elucidating the advantages and disadvantages of each of the methods (the statistical linearization method, the perturbation method, the Monte Carlo Simulation method, the numerical path integration method, the global geometric method and the first passage theory). Studies on stochastic dynamic analysis of nonlinear systems have attracted engineers and scientists from various disciplines, such as aeronautical, civil, mechanical and ocean engineering. Pursuing a systematic approach, this book establishes a fundamental framework for this topic, while emphasizing the importance of accurate and efficient analysis as well as the significant influence of choosing a suitable method in the design and optimization of various nonlinear engineering systems (especially ships and ocean engineering systems). The textbook is intended for upper undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in advanced dynamic analysis technologies, researchers investigating nonlinear systems under stochastic dynamic excitations, and civil/mechanical/structural/ocean engineers working on designing and optimization of real-world nonlinear engineering systems. The basis of English translation of this book from its Chinese original manuscript was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision of the content was done by the author.

Path Integrals In Stochastic Engineering Dynamics written by Ioannis A. Kougioumtzoglou and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-05 with Science categories.
This book organizes and explains, in a systematic and pedagogically effective manner, recent advances in path integral solution techniques with applications in stochastic engineering dynamics. It fills a gap in the literature by introducing to the engineering mechanics community, for the first time in the form of a book, the Wiener path integral as a potent uncertainty quantification tool. Since the path integral flourished within the realm of quantum mechanics and theoretical physics applications, most books on the topic have focused on the complex-valued Feynman integral with only few exceptions, which present path integrals from a stochastic processes perspective. Remarkably, there are only few papers, and no books, dedicated to path integral as a solution technique in stochastic engineering dynamics. Summarizing recently developed techniques, this volume is ideal for engineering analysts interested in further establishing path integrals as an alternative potent conceptual and computational vehicle in stochastic engineering dynamics.
