[English]: The book contains the results of the first-year Design Studios within the bachelor's degree program in Science of Architecture of the Department of Architecture, University of Naples "Federico II". Each Studio is structured in two semesters: in the first one students attend the course of Theories of Architecture; in the second one they develop the project exercise within the Design Studio. The courses share the work on the Valley of Temples in Agrigento, as part of IncipitLab, the Italian coordination of the first-year Design Studios. The results, collected here, builds a wealth of reflections both within the general dimension of teaching – despite the persistence of the pandemic situation – and in the dimension of each specific context, through original contributi

Geography And Revolution written by David N. Livingstone and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-08-15 with Science categories.

A term with myriad associations, revolution is commonly understood in its intellectual, historical, and sociopolitical contexts. Until now, almost no attention has been paid to revolution and questions of geography. Geography and Revolution examines the ways that place and space matter in a variety of revolutionary situations. David N. Livingstone and Charles W. J. Withers assemble a set of essays that are themselves revolutionary in uncovering not only the geography of revolutions but the role of geography in revolutions. Here, scientific revolutions—Copernican, Newtonian, and Darwinian—ordinarily thought of as placeless, are revealed to be rooted in specific sites and spaces. Technical revolutions—the advent of print, time-keeping, and photography—emerge as inventions that transformed the world's order without homogenizing it. Political revolutions—in France, England, Germany, and the United States—are notable for their debates on the nature of political institutions and national identity. Gathering insight from geographers, historians, and historians of science, Geography and Revolution is an invitation to take the where as seriously as the who and the when in examining the nature, shape, and location of revolutions.

The Architecture Of The Ancient Greek Theatre written by Rune Frederiksen and has been published by Aarhus Universitetsforlag this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-12-01 with Architecture categories.

This book is a collection of papers following the conference The Architecture of the Ancient Greek Theatre, held in Athens in January 2012. Fundamental publications on the topic have not been issued for many years. Bringing together the leading experts on theatre architecture, this conference aimed at introducing new facts and important comprehensive studies on Greek theatres to the public. The published volume is, first of all, a presentation of new excavation results and new analyses of individual monuments. Many well-known theatres such as the one of Dionysos in Athens, and others at Dodone, Corinth, and Sikyon have been re-examined since their original publication, with stunning results. New research, presented in this volume, includes moreover less well known, or even newly found, ancient Greek theatres in Albania, Asia Minor, Cyprus, and Sicily. Further studies on the history of research, on regional theatrical developments, terminology, and function, as well as a perspective on Roman theatres built in Greek traditions make this volume a comprehensive volume of new research for expert scholars as well as for students and the interested public.

Roman Urbanism written by Helen Parkins and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-08-18 with History categories.

The contributors to this volume provide an accessible and jargon-free insight into the notion of the Roman city; what shaped it, and how it both structured and reflected Roman society. Roman Urbanism challenges the established economic model for the Roman city and instead offers original and diverse approaches for examining Roman urbanization, bringing the Roman city into the nineties. Roman Urbanism is a lively and informative volume, particularly valuable in an age dominated by urban development.
